Miami (OH) coach DeUnna Hendrix started the following lineup: 6-1 Jr. Abbey Hoff, 5-10 Jr. Kenzie Schmitz, 6-2 Sr. Savannah Kluesner, 5-3 Sr. Lauren Dickerson, and 5-8 Fr. Peyton Scott.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Samantha Williams countered with 6-1 Jr. Samari Mowbray, 5-8 Sr. Shay Solomon, 6-2 Jr. I’Liyah Green, 5-6 Jr. Teri Goodlett, and 5-7 Jr. De’ayra Davis.

 

Miami (OH) raced out to a 21 point lead in the second quarter and withstood a rally by Eastern Kentucky in the third quarter in which the Colonels pulled to within six points before the Redhawks pulled away for a 75-57 victory.  Eastern Kentucky did not have an answer for Lauren Dickerson who torched the Colonels for 37 points including eight three point baskets.

 

Miami (OH) shot 46% from the field including 12 of 25 from the three point line.  The Redhawks connected on five of seven free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 22 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 42.1% from the field including four of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on five of six free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored eight points off 13 Miami (OH) turnovers.

 

Lauren Dickerson led Miami (OH) with 37 points including eight three point baskets, eight assists, and four steals.  Savannah Kluesner added 14 points, 13 rebounds, and three assists.  Peyton Scott recorded 11 points, three rebounds, three assists, and four steals. 

 

5-11 Jr. Bria Bass led a 31-2 advantage in bench scoring for Eastern Kentucky with 17 points and five rebounds.  6-1 Fr. Anysa Jordan added 11 points and three rebounds.  Shay Solomon recorded eight points, six rebounds, and four assists.  I’Liyah Green chipped in with eight points and five rebounds.
