Madison Central vs. Bourbon County (Girls)

Madison Central coach Brad Lovely started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Gretchen Hammitt, 5-9 Jr. Raelynn Miller, 5-10 Sr. Jekauri McKeithen, 5-3 7th Grade Brittany Campbell, and 5-4 Fr. Eve Carter.  (Madison Central was without the services of 5-7 Sr. Taleya Todd, 6-6 Jr. Lacie Parks, 5-5 Jr. Brianna Bierbaum, and 5-7 Fr. Chloe Freeman).  Bourbon County coach Bill Watson countered with 5-6 Jr. Bella Mitchell, 5-10 Jr. McLain Murphy, 6-3 Fr. Jhaven Meade, 5-4 Jr. Jaycee Goodwin, and 5-5 So.  Jaydyn Goodwin.  (Bourbon County was also without several players for tonight’s game).

 

Bourbon County recorded 10 blocked shots and 10 steals and scored 25 points off 31 Madison Central in a 48-34 victory.  Bourbon County shot 31.8% from the field including eight of 24 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 12 of 21 free throws and pulled down 34 rebounds.  Madison Central shot 24.1% from the field including two of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on six of 16 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 26 Bourbon County turnovers.

 

McLain Murphy had a big game tonight and led Bourbon County with 22 points including four three point baskets, 12 rebounds, four assists, and 11 steals.  Jhaven Meade added six points, seven rebounds, nine blocked shots, and two steals.  Bella Mitchell recorded seven points, six rebounds, and two steals.  Jaydyn Goodwin chipped in with seven points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

 

Jekauri McKeithen led Madison Central with 15 points and nine rebounds.  Brittany Campbell added seven points, five rebounds, and five steals.  Raelynn Miller pulled down 10 rebounds.
