East Jessamine vs. Madison Central (Girls)

East Jessamine Coach Steve Bridenbaugh started the following lineup:5-7 Sr. Autumn Harrison, 5-6 Sr. Aimee Haggins, 5-8 Fr. Iesha Dean, 5-5 Fr. Jaila Yeast, and 5-6 Fr. Jermyra Christian.  Madison Central coach Brad Lovely countered with 5-9 Sr. Raelynn Miller, 5-7 Sr. Taleya Todd, 5-11 Sr. Jekauri McKeithen, 5-3 7th Grade Brittany Campbell, and 5-4 Fr. Eve Carter.

 

Madison Central defeated East Jessamine by a score of 40-39 to give Coach Lovely his first victory as the head coach at Madison Central.  Madison Central led by eight in the final quarter but East Jessamine rallied and had two contested shots for the win in the final seconds but they would not fall.  There were six ties and five lead changes in the game.  Madison Central shot 35.7% from the field including zero of four from the three point line.  The Indians connected on 10 of 16 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 17 East Jessamine turnovers.  East Jessamine shot 28.6% from the field including four of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Jaguars connected on seven of 12 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 21 Madison Central turnovers.

 

Jekauri McKeithen led Madison Central with 22 points including six of six free throws, 11 rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots, and two steals.  5-10 Jr. Gretchen Hammit added four points and six rebounds.  Eve Carter recorded two points, four rebounds, three assists, and five steals.

 

Jermyra Christian led East Jessamine with 22 points, four rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots, and eight steals.  Iesha Dean added six points, eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Jaila Yeast recorded four points, six rebounds, two assists, and four steals.
