Eastern Kentucky University coach AW Hamilton started the following lineup: 6-8 Jr. Darius Hicks, 6-3 Sr. Ty Taylor, 6-8 So. Tre King, 6-2 Jr. Jacquess Hobbs, and 6-2 So. Jomaru Brown.  Northern Kentucky University coach Darrin Horn countered with 6-6 Sr. Dantez Walton, 6-3 So. Trevon Faulkner, 6-8 Jr. Silas Adheke, 5-9 So. Bryson Langdon, and 6-0 Sr. Tyler Sharpe.

The score was tied 35-35 at halftime but Northern Kentucky shot a sizzling 70.8% from the field in the second half to earn a 76-57 victory.  There were eight lead changes and six ties in this game.  Northern Kentucky shot 58.3% from the field including eight of 22 from the three point line.  The Norse connected on 12 of 15 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 13 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 38.3% from the field including nine of 26 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on two of six free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 21 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

Dantez Walton led Northern Kentucky with 18 points including three three point baskets, nine rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Trevon Faulkner added 18 points, six rebounds, and seven assists.  Bryson Langdon recorded 14 points including two three point baskets and four assists. Tyler Sharpe chipped in with 10 points, five rebounds, and four assists.  6-7 So. Adrian Nelson added 10 points and four rebounds.

Ty Taylor led Eastern Kentucky with 14 points including four three point baskets.  Jacquess Hobbs and Tre King each scored seven points and Darius Hicks pulled down six rebounds.
