Scott County vs. Madison Central (Girls)

Scott County coach Steve Helton started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Malea Williams, 6-0 Jr. Kenady Tompkins, 6-3 Jr. Trencye Kenney, 5-5 Sr. Morgan DeFoor, and 6-0 Jr. Kaylie Wise.  Madison Central coach Brad Lovely countered with 5-10 Jr. Raelynn Miller, 5-9 Sr. Taleya Todd, 5-11 Sr. Jekauri McKeithen, 5-4 Fr. Eve Carter, and 5-5 Jr. Brianna Bierbaum.

 

Scott County defeated Madison Central by a score of 68-32.  Scott County shot 36.8% from the field including three of 13 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 15 of 24 free throws, pulled down 60 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 25 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 15.4% from the field including two of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on 14 of 26 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 20 Scott County turnovers.

 

Morgan DeFoor led Scott County with 22 points, five assists, and four steals.  Malea Williams added 17 points, 15 rebounds, and four blocked shots.  5-10 8th Grade Irene Persley recorded eight points and six rebounds.  5-4 So. Emma Price chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets.  Kenady Tompkins pulled down eight rebounds.

 

Taleya Todd led Madison Central with eight points including four of four free throws, , three rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Brianna Bierbaum added seven points including two three point baskets.  Jekauri McKeithen recorded five points and nine rebounds.  5-10 Jr. Gretchen Hammitt chipped in with four points, six rebounds, and a blocked shot.
