Eastern Kentucky University coach Samantha Williams started the following lineup: 6-1 Jr. Samari Mowbray, 5-7 Jr. De’ayra Davis, 6-2 Jr. I’Liyah Green, 5-6 Jr. Teri Goodlett, and 5-6 Jr. Qay Stanton.  Tennessee State University coach Jessica Kerns countered with 5-10 Jr. Jaden Wrightsell, 5-9 So. Jasmine Broner, 5-11 Jr. Taylor Roberts, 5-7 Sr. Keniece Purvis, and 5-8 So. Jazmine Young.

Eastern Kentucky University trailed 41-39 after three quarters but outscored Tennessee State University 22-14 in the final quarter to earn a 61-55 victory.  The score was tied eight times with 14 lead changes.  Eastern Kentucky shot 39.6% from the field including five of 16 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 14 of 19 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored eight points off 13 Tennessee State University turnovers.  Tennessee State shot 38.3% from the field including five of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Tigers connected on four of eight free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 19 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

Teri Goodlett led Eastern Kentucky with 15 points including two three point baskets, five of six free throws, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  I’Liyah Green added 13 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two blocked shots.  Samari Mowbray recorded 13 points including three three point baskets and four rebounds.  5-11 Jr. Bria Bass chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds.

5-9 Fr. Deaja Richardson led Tennessee State with 14 points including four three point baskets.  Jazmine Young added nine points and two steals.  5-6 So.Terrysha Banner chipped in with seven points.  Taylor Roberts recorded six points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  Jaden Wrightsell added five points, six rebounds, and five steals.
