Since I can remember, the label of "non-conformist" has stuck to me. I've always considered myself on the fringe of civilized society and have felt thoroughly comfortable in keeping my distance. In school I naturally gravitated toward those subjects the adults assured me could not earn one a living - art, music and drama. I quit college a semester short of a B.A. in biology (well, the natural world holds its own fascination) to go on the road as a hippie troubador.
At that time I was married to Dick "Richard" Albin, and, as Dick and Anne Albin, we performed a folksong and storytelling act during the '70s and '80s throughout the U.S. and on Dept. of Defense tours in ten European countries. We recorded several albums, wrote a lot of songs and had an interesting career, privileged to be exposed to many environments but unburdened by belonging to any.
When our marriage ended, each of us launched a solo career. My new situation took me to engagements in the British Isles, where I met up with an eccentric inventor/engineer/computerwhiz - a sort of Gyro Gearloose with curly hair - Young Paul Elsey of Ewhurst village in Surrey. The resulting alliance has led to a fun second marriage and the promise of many international adventures. We live with our cats on 75 acres of wild woodland in Powell County, Ky.
Having entertained a lifelong interest in such matters as UFOs, I've been fortunate in being able to pursue and speak freely on the subject, as I had no respectable occupation to protect; the public tolerates - even expects - weirdness in the Arts. I joined MUFON about a decade ago to receive information that wasn't reaching mainstream news, to get personally involved in investigating the phenomenon, and to meet others who share the UFO fascination.
