JIM BIBBY ...(1/18/03-1/29) 1 card. A decent pitcher that at times was overpowering. He spent two years in Viet Nam after he was drafted. On July 30, 1973 he no hit the A's. An All-Star in 1980 when he posted a 19-6 record.Lifetime W111-L101 3.76 ERA.

RAY BOONE ..(2/9/04-2/25) Played from 1948-1960. He is the father of Bob Boone and grandfather of Bret Boone and Aaron Boone. A rare three generations of baseball players. He was elected to the All-Star team in 1954 and 1956. Lifetime .275 151 HRS 737 RBIs.

RALPH BRANCA …(9/12/02-9/25) 1 card. He threw the pitch Bobby Thomson hit for "the shot heard round the world" to win the 1951 playoff.In 1947, he won 21 games for the Dodgers at age 21. He made the All-Star team in 1947-49.Lifetime W88-L68 3.79 ERA.

SID BREAM ..(7/18/03-8/23) Played from 1983-1994. He set the NL record with 166 assists at first base in 1986 breaking Fred Tenney’s NL record of 152 which Tenney set in 1905. He also included a religious pamphlet, which was very interesting.Lifetime .264 90 HRs 455 RBIs.

JACK BREWER NY Giants picher in 1941,44-46. Signed my card and sent personalized billfold picture. Lost his job in '46 when the regulars came back after the war. Lifetime W9-L10.

KEN BRETT..(5/6/02-5/18)1 card. Overshadowed by younger brother George, Ken became the youngest pitcher to pitch in a World Series game in 1967. He also set a record for pitchers in 1973 by homering in four straight starts with the Phillies. All-Star in 1974. Lifetime W83-L85

DAVE BRISTOL..(10/25/99-11/4)1 card. Former manager. Left Cincinnati when Sparky replaced him in 1970. Lifetime W658-L764 .463 as a manager.

GREG BROCK ..(9/17/04-9/28) Played from 1982-1991. He took over first base replacing a popular Dodger, Steve Garvey. 7th. Lifetime .247 102 HRs 406 RBIs.

DICK BRODOWSKI …(5/17/02-5/24) 1 card. A right handed pitcher that played in 1952 and 1955-59 for the Red Sox, Senators, and Indians. Signed my '53 reprint in exactly a week.Lifetime W9-L11 4.76 ERA.

HAL BROWN ..(1/2/04-1/15) Pitched from 1951-1964. His best pitch was the knuckleball which he could pinpoint. Lifetime W85-L62 3.81 ERA.

GLENN BRUMMER>>(7/3/04-7/20) Played only in 178 games for the Cardinals from 1981-1985. Sat a lot in the dugout during those times but it helps me fill the 1984 Topps set. Lifetime .251 1 HR 27 RBIs.

LEW BURDETTE ..(5/18/02-6/7) 1 card. Won 20 games in 1958 and 21 in '59. His 2.70 ERA topped the NL in 1956. In two All-Star Games, he allowed only one run in seven innings. Won three complete games in the 1957 World Series and he no-hit the Phillies on August 18, 1960.Lifetime W203-L144 3.66 ERA.

TOMMY BYRNE ..(1/2/04-1/15) Pitched from 1943-1957. Sometimes used as a pinch hitter and he had 18 homers in his career. Lifetime W85-L69 4.11 ERA.

SAM CALDERONE ..(6 months, rec Dec. 02) 1 card. Only played 91 games in his short career that was in 1950, 53-54 for the Giants and Braves.

BILL CAMPBELL ..(7/8/04-7/16) Pitched from 1973-1987 for several teams. He was used as relief and was elected to the All Star team in 1977. Won 17 games in 1976 which is an AL relief record. Lifetime W83-L68 3.55 ERA.

JOE CARTER..(6/7/01-7/24) Signed my card c/o WGN/TV. Who could forget the shot he hit in the World Series? 1991, 94, 96 All-Star. Lifetime .259 396 Hrs 1445 RBIs.

PHIL CAVARRETTA ….(7/1/02-7/8) Played 1st and outfield in 1934-55 for the Cubs and White Sox. He was manager in 1951-53 for the Cubs. An All-Star in 1944, 46, 47 and he won the Most Valuable Player Award in 1945..Lifetime

PAT CORRALES …(11/18/02-11/29) 1 card. He spent much of his career as the backup catcher to Johnny Bench in Cincinnati. He managed the Rangers, Phillies, and the Indians. On 7/18/83 he became the only manager to be fired with his team in first place when Philadelphia fired him.

KAL DANIELS ...(1/29/03-3/12) 1 card. Played from 1986-93 and had his career cut short because of bad knees(6 operations before the age of 25). His best year was in 1987 when he hit .334 with 26 HR and 26 stolen bases.Lifetime .285 104 HRs 360 RBIs.

DARREN DAULTON..(1/23/99-2/9) 1 card. Played behind the plate for the Phillies.

ANDRE DAWSON..(7/7/04-8/14) One of my favorite players. The Hawk would get my vote for the Hall of Fame. 8 time All-Star, 8 time Gold Glove winner, and won the Most Valuable Player Award in 1987. Lifetime .279 438 HRs 1591 RBIs.

KEN DAYLEY ..(7/22/04-8/13) Pitched from 1982-1993 for the Braves, Cardinals, and Blue Jays. He was used as a reliever. Lifetime W33-L45 3.64 ERA.

DOUG DeCINCES ..(6/11/04-7/4) Played from 1973-1987 and was elected to the All-Star team in 1983. He is one of only a few players ever to hit three home runs in a game twice in the same season. Lifetime .259 237 HRs 879 RBIs.

RICK DEMPSEY ...(6/19/03-7/24) Played behind the plate for 1,766 games. In his career he achieved the rare distinction of catching a game in four different decades. His highlight was winning the 1983 World Series MVP. Was sent c/o O's.Lifetime .233 96 HRs 471 RBIs.

BUCKY DENT..(7/2/01-7/13) Former SS that played in 70's & 80's and current coach for the Rangers. Sent card back un-signed but included an autographed 3 by 5 postcard and a typed letter.

ROB DIBBLE ..(4/12/04-4/21) Pitched from 1988-95. Former nasty boy for the Reds that was elected to the All-Star team in 1990-91.

JACK DITTMER Played 1952-1957 for the Braves and Tigers. Used as a backup. Lifetime .232 24 HRs 136 RBIs.

DOUG DRABEK ..(5/13/03-5/27) Pitched from 1986-98 for 5 different teams. In 1990 he had 22 wins and a 2.76 ERA to claim the NL Cy Young Award. He signed my baseball with "1990 NL Cy Young" as requested.
Lifetime W155-L134 3.73 ERA.

DAVE DRAVECKY ..(11/24/02-12/16) 1 card. Played from 1982-89 for the Padres and Giants. Was elected to the All-Star team in 1983. His career and almost his life was cut short due to a cancerous tumor in his pitching arm. He had his left arm amputated to alleviate chronic infection and nerve damage.

MAHLON DUCKETT..(1/22/01-1/29) Another player from the Negro Leagues. Played '40-'50 for Philly and Homestead Grays. He included a b&w 3x5.

JERRY DYBZINSKI ..(7/24/04-8/19) Played from 1980-85 for the Cleveland Indians. Sit mostly on the bench during his career.
Lifetime .234 3 HRs 93 RBIs.

MIKE EASLER ..(1/27/03-2/28) 1 card. Played from 1973-87 for several teams. In 1984 he had career highs of 27 HR and 91 RBI.Lifetime .293 118 HRs 522 RBIs.

CARL ERSKINE ….(5/18/02-6/28) 1 card. 1954 All-Star that played for the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1948-59. Went 20-6 in 1953 and he had two no-hitters: on June 19, 1952 against the Cubs, and on May 12, 1956 against the Giants. When asked what What was the highlight of your career? His answer was “Pitching in eleven World Series games. Won two, lost two. The two wins were unusual and exciting. Fifth game 1952, Yankee Stadium, pitched all eleven innings to win. Third game 1953, won 3-2 and set a World Series strike out record of 14 - Mantle four times. “

NICK ESASKY …(9/9/02-9/25) 1 card. Esasky replaced Johnny Bench at third base for the Reds in 1983. In 1989, he set career highs with a .277 average, 30 homers and 117 RBIs with the Red Sox. The following season, Esasky developed an inner ear infection that caused vertigo and the debilitating dizziness that followed quickly removed him from the starting lineup.

ELROY FACE..(10/20/99-10/27)Kept my index card ,sent a 3 by 5 b&w photo that he signed. Holds ML record for most relief wins in a season with 18, 17 were consecutive which is another record. Lifetime W104-L95.

BILL FAHEY ..(8/7/03-8/22)Played as a back-up catcher from 1971-1983 for the Senators, Padres, and the Tigers. I am working on the '76 set. Lifetime .241 7 HRs 83 RBIs.

TOM FOLEY ..(6/16/04-6/29) Played from 1983-1995 as a back up for the Reds, Phillies, Expos, and Pirates. Lifetime .244 32 HRs 263 RBIs.

KEN FORSCH ..(7/25/02-8/6)1 card. Ken and his brother Bob are the only brothers to hurl no-hitters. In 1976 he was named to the NL All-Star team as a reliever and finished the season with 19 saves for the Astros. In 1981 he was named to the AL All-Star team for his work as a starter with the Angels.

GEORGE FOSTER ..(10/29/02-12/23)1 baseball. One of the most underrated member of the "Big Red Machine". Won the 1977 MVP award and signed my baseball. His fee is $25 but he returned my check with VOID written on it. An early gift for me. Sometimes he will do this but don't count on it.

TERRY FRANCONA ..(6/12/04-6/29) Played from 1981-1990 and is the son of Tito Francona that played in the '50s and '60s. Was the manager for the Phillies in 1997-2000 and now is with Boston. Lifetime .274 16 HRs 143 RBIs. W285-L363 .440% as a manager.

JIM FREY ...(1/6/03-1/17) 1 card. He was the manager in 1980-81 for Kansas City and was the Cubs manager in 1984-86.Lifetime W323-L287 .530% as a manger.

RICH GALE ..(1/31/03-4/12) Played from 1978-84 for four different teams. His best season was his rookie year which he was 14-8 with an ERA of 3.09. He helped the Royals to the AL pennant in 1980 when he went 13-9, 3.91 ERA. Lifetime W55-L56 4.53 ERA.

GENE GARBER..(1/26/00-2/7)1 card. Braves closer that stopped Rose's hitting streak with a strikeout. Lifetime W96-L113.

RON GARDENHIRE ..(7/15/04-7/25) Only year he played full time was 1982 with the Mets, then used as a utility man going between Triple-A and New York until 1985. He is currently the Twin’s 3rd base coach. Was sent c/o team. .

NED GARVER ..(1/12/04-1/27) Pitched from 1948-1961. Made the All-Star team in 1951 when he won 20 games in a season for the Browns which lost 100 when he went 20-12. The rest of the pitching staff won only 32. Lifetime W129-L157 3.73 ERA.

STEVE GARVEY..(1/17/00-2/4)1 card. Had an excellent career with LA and San Diego. 1974 MVP and 10 time All-Star. Lifetime .294 272 HRs 1308 RBIs.

GOOSE GOSSAGE ..(7/26/03-9/2/030) A great relief pitcher and a future HOFer! 9 time All-Star. Lifetime W124-L107.

JIM GREENGRASS …(7/6/02-7/13) 1 card. Had a short career as he played from 1952-56 for the Reds and Phillies. He had 100 RBI his first full season and 27 HR his second. His promising career was cut short by phlebitis. He wrote a very nice letter and also telling me that he stayed in a hotel last week in the town I live in.

TOM GRIEVE ..(1/21/03-1/28) 1 card. Former DH/outfielder that played from 1970-79 for the Senators, Rangers, and Cardinals. He is the father of Ben Grieve and in 1984, at age 36, he became the youngest GM in the ML for Texas. Lifetime .249 65 HRs 254 RBIs.

DICK GROAT ..(6 months) 5 time All-Star and 1960 MVP, but also an All-American basketball player at Duke and averaged 12 points per game with the Fort Wayne Pistons in the NBL. He signed my baseball with “1960 MVP” as requested. Lifetime .286 39 HRs 707 RBIs.

JOHNNY GROTH..(1/8/02-1/16)1 card. Played '46-'60 with several teams. Sometimes charges, but mine was free. Lifetime .279 60 HRs 486 RBIs.

PEDRO GUERRERO..(2/8/99-6/19)1 card...home. A former Dodger that was a 5 time All-Star. Lifetime .300 215 HRs 898 RBIs.

RANDY GUMPERT ..(8/7/03-8/14) Pitched from 1936-38 and 1946-52. This 85 year old was an All-Star in 1951. On May 1, 1951 he gave up Mickey Mantle's first homerun in the Majors which he included on the baseball as requested.Lifetime W51-L59 4.17 ERA.

TONY GWYNN ..(rec. 11/8/00) 1 card. One of the best of all time. Holds 8 batting titles. The Hall awaits! Fourth success with him. Lifetime .338 134 HRs 1121 RBIs.

ATLEE HAMMAKER ..(2/13/03-3/11) 1 card. Pitched from 1981-1995 and was an All-Star in 1983. In that same season he led the league in ERA (2.25).
Lifetime W55-L57 3.54 ERA.

BILL HANDS ..(11/26/02-12/18) 1 card. Played from 1965-75 for the Giants, Cubs, and Twins. Won 20 games and led Cubs' staff with a 2.49 ERA in 1969.

STEVE HARGAN ..(11/29/02-12/11) A right handed pitcher that played from 1965-77 for several teams. He was an All-Star in 1967 with Cleveland and in 1970 he went 11-3 with a 2.90 ERA.

SOLLY HEMUS ..(7/22/02-8/8) 1 card. Played from 1949-59 for the Cardinals and Phillies and was manager in 1959-61 for the Cardinals. He led the NL three times in HBP and in 1952, Hemus scored 105 runs to tie teammate Stan Musial for the NL lead. Since 1959 there have been only five ML playing managers: Pete Rose, Frank Robinson, Joe Torre, Don Kessinger, and Hemus.

DAVE HENDERSON ..(5/2/04-5/15) Played from 1981-1994 and another guy that hit for power and not average. He had a good career and was elected to the 1991 All-Star team. Lifetime .258 197 HRs 708 RBIs.

FRANK HOWARD ...(11/7/02-11/14)1 card. Won the 1960 NL Rookie of the Year and led the league in HRs in 1968 and 1970. All-Star in 1968-71. He also managed for the Padres and Mets in '81 &'83.

SID HUDSON ..(4/17/02-4/29) His best major league mark was 17-16 as a rookie in 1940. At age 39, he became a longtime pitching coach, instructor, and scout. 1941, 42 All-Star.


JIM KAAT ...(Nov. 2002-4/17/03) 3 time All-Star that won 20 games or more 3 times in his career. In 1966 he led the AL by winning 25 games and pitching 19 complete games. He shares the Major League record of 16 Gold Gloves with Brooks Robinson. An outstanding pitcher that deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. Kaat usually signs in quick return times.Lifetime W283-L237 3.45 ERA.

JUNIOR KENNEDY ..(7/21/03-8/5) Played 1974, 78-83 for the Reds and Cubs. He was Cincinnati's second baseman in 1978-79 while Joe Morgan was hurt. Lifetime .248 4 HRs 95 RBIs

RON KITTLE ..(5/3/04-5/13) Played from 1982-1991 and could knock the cover off when he did not strike out. He was elected to the All-Star team and also won the AL Rookie of the Year award in 1983. Lifetime .239 176 HRs 460 RBIs.

RAY KNIGHT ..(4/2/03-4/16) Former player that played from 1974-88 for several teams. Was fired as Cincinnati's manager in the late 90's and now currently a coach for the Reds. Also was a regular on ESPN's Baseball Tonight few years back. A two time All-Star signed my card that was sent c/o Reds. A surprise to get this one back. Usually does not sign and this is the first time he has signed for me in 5 tries.Lifetime .271 84 HRs 595 RBIs.

JOE JOHNSON ..(2/26/03-3/7) 1 card. Only played 2 years with the Braves and Blue Jays during 1985-87. He won 13 games as a starting pitcher in 1986. Even though he played in few games, I remember watching him pitch on TBS.Lifetime W20-L18 4.48 ERA.

VERN LAW …(6/24/02-7/3) 1 card. In 1960, he won the Cy Young Award with a 20-9 record and a league-high 18 complete games. He signed my '53 reprint with a black sharpie.

CHARLIE LEA ...(10/1/02-10/()1 card. An excellent starter for the Expos for several seasons, Lea was the NL's starting and winning pitcher in the 1984 All-Star Game, then saw his career ruined by arm problems that forced him to miss the entire 1985 & 1986 seasons.Lifetime W62-L48 3.54 ERA.

TED LEPCIO ..(7/25/02-8/5) 1 card. Played from 1952-61 for the Red Sox, Tigers, Phillies, White Sox, and Twins. Made the Rookie All-Star team in 1952. Also sent a autographed picture.

CLEM LABINE ...(7/25/02-8/17) 1 card. One of baseball's premier relievers in the 1950s. He helped the Dodgers to four pennants. He was 13-5 in a NL-leading 60 appearances with the 1955 World Champions and league leader in saves the next two seasons. He retired Dodger-killer Stan Musial 49 consecutive times. After leaving the Dodgers, Labine pitched for the Pirates in the 1960 WS. All-Star in 1956-57.

FRED LYNN ..(6/12/03-6/19) Well I did like most of us and decided to try Lynn and get that classic blue index card. Wished he signed my card but I am happy to recieve the index. He won Most Valuable Player Award in 1975 and was a 9 time All-Star. He is the only player to have a grand slam in All-Star play. Lifetime .284 300 HRs 1088 RBIs.

LLOYD McCLENDON ..(4/17/02-4/24) 1 card. Another skipper that needs some time to turn the Buc's around and he looks like he is on the right track from last years' 100 loses.

GIL McDOUGALD ..(1/27/03-2/8) 1 baseball. Beat out teammate Mickey Mantle to win the 1951 Rookie of the Year award and was the first rookie to hit a grand slam in the World Series. An All-Star in 1952, 56,57,58, and 1959. Member of eight Yankee pennant-winners, McDougald ranks among the leaders with 53 WS games and 190 WS at-bats. At age 33 he retired rather than join the Washington Senators. Signed my baseball with "1951 ROY" as requested. Lifetime .276 112 HRs 576 RBIs.

TOM McCARTHY …(3/3/03-4/12)Played 10 years in the minors before being called up in 1989 for the White Sox. (Pitched 5 innings for Boston in 1985) Pitched 67 innings that year and ended up with a 3.51 ERA. Sent to his home on March 3rd.

JOHN McNAMARA (4/4/04-5/3) Manager from 1969-1988 for different teams and did well. He has one of the smallest autos I have seen in a while. Lifetime W1048-L1078 .493% as a manager.

MORRIS MARTIN ..(11/26/02-1/18) 1 card. Former pitcher that played from 1949 and 1951-59. Served in WWII and wounded several times. "Morrie" was the A's 1st choice in the 1950 draft. Was 11-4 in his rookie season.

JERRY MANUEL..(2/15/01-2/27) White Sox manager won 95 games in 2000. Lifetime .150 3 HRs 13 RBIs as a player, W155-L168 as a manager.

MARTY MARION ...(11/20/02-12/6) 1 baseball and card. One of the best shortstop in the '40's. With Marion at SS, the Cardinals won four pennants, three World Championships, and he was named to seven NL All-Star squads from 1941 through 1949. An injury cut his career short, and he managed for the Cardinals in 1951. He took over for manager Rogers Hornsby early in the 1952 season with the Browns. He was named the 1944 MVP. He signed my baseball and added "MVP N.L. 1944" as requested.

GARY MATTHEWS ..(6/9/04-6/26) Played from 1972-1987. He won the Rookie of the Year Award in 1973 and was elected to the All-Star team in 1979. He could knock the cover off the ball. Could be a ghostsigner. Lifetime .281 234 HRs 978 RBIs.

HAL MORRIS ..(4/11/04-5/3)Not a household name but he was always one of my favorites. He would always bat .300+ and give it all. Played from 1988-2000 for the Reds and Yanks. Lifetime .304 76 HRs 513 RBIs.

LES MOSS ...(12/28/99-1/3)1 index card. Usually sends a picture but I struck out. Managed part of 68, 79 season with the Tigers, replaced by Sparky. Lifetime .247 63 HRs 276 RBIs, W39-L52 .429 % as a manager.

DON MUELLER ..(4/10/03-4/18) Former outfielder nicknamed "Mandrake the Magician" because of his ability to find gaps in infield defenses. His best season was 1954 when he led the NL in hits with 212 and hit .342, just barely losing the batting title to Willie Mays. He was an All-Star in 1954 and 1955. He walked away from baseball and retired after 1959 at age 32. Lifetime .296 65 HRs 520 RBIs.

DON NEWCOMBE ..(5/17/03-6/9) 1 baseball. Pitched from 1949-1960 for the Dodgers, Reds, and Indians. Newcombe is the only player to have won the Rookie of the Year, MVP, and Cy Young Awards. In 1956 he was 27-7 with five shutouts and a 3.06 ERA, and was named NL MVP and recipient of the first-ever Cy Young Award with Brooklyn. Was sent c/o his home with $10. He won the National League ERA title (2.48) for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1984, and in 1991 he was part of a combined no-hitter for Atlanta with Kent Mercker and Mark Wohlers.Lifetime W56-L52 3.11 ERA.

JIM PERRY...(4/23/02-5/6) Brother of HOFer Gaylord, signed my card (in blue ballpoint)in about two weeks. 20 game winner in 1969 and 1970 with the Twins. Won 215 games as Gaylord won 314. He won the Cy Young Award in 1970 and was an All-Star in 1961, 70, and 71.

He had a nervous breakdown in 1952 which he wrote a book called "Fear Strikes Out" which later became a movie. He ran backward around the bases after hitting his 100th career homer. DUANE PILLETTE ….(6/24/02-7/2) 1 card. The right handed pitcher lost the last game the Browns played in St. Louis, 2-1(9/27/53). He moved with the franchise to Baltimore and recorded the Orioles' first win in 1954. Played in 1949-56 with the Yankees, Browns , Phillies.

JOHNNY PODRES ...(8/21/02-9/17) 1 card. He became a Brooklyn legend in 1955 when he pitched the Dodgers to their first-ever World Championship. In 1957 he led the NL in both ERA (2.66) and shutouts (6). In 1961 he won a career-high 18 games and led the NL in winning percentage(.783). Was an All-Star in 1958,60, and 1962. Signed my 5x7 for $5.

CHUCK PORTER ..(6/2/04-6/14) Pitched from 1981-1985 for the Brewers. He was the losing pitcher during the longest game in major-league history on May 8, 1984. It lasted 25 innings. Lifetime W13-L13 4.15 ERA.

DUSTY RHODES ..(6/3/02-6/12) 1 card. In 1954 World Series, he led the Giants' sweep of the Indians. His pinch homer off Bob Lemon with two on in the 10th inning won Game One. In Game Two, he tied the game with a pinch single off Early Wynn in the fifth and then homered off Wynn in the seventh for the final run in a 3-1 win. And his pinch single in the third inning of Game Three drove in two runs.

He won 1960 Series MVP honors when he batted .367 with 11 hits, a grand slam, and eight runs scored. He set WS records with 12 total RBI and 6 RBI in Game Three. JIM RIVERA ...(7/23/02-8/10) 1 card. An outfielder that played from 1952-61 for the Browns, White Sox, and A’s. An average player at the plate and an excellent fielder. In 1955 he swiped a league-high 25 bases.

DON ROBINSON ..(6/18/03-7/1) Pitched from 1978-92 and was hampered by injuries throughout his career. Helped the Giants win the 1987 National League West title. He played well on defense and was well know for his bat and his power. He had 13 homers in his career. He was used regularly as a pinch hitter.

ROY SIEVERS ..(6/10/02-6/17) 1 card. American League Rookie of the Year in 1949 with the St. Louis Browns. Roy and Jimmie Foxx are the only players to pinch-hit grand slams in both the AL and NL. Was an All-Star in 1956,57, and 59. Led the AL in homers with 42 and RBIs with 114. He also signed a ball for me in Nov. '02. Lifetime .267 318 HRs 1147 RBIs.

KEN SINGLETON ..(6/9/04-6/17) A switch hitter that could knock the cover off the ball. Had at least 20 HR in five seasons. He was in double figures in homers in all but three of his 15 seasons and hit .300 four times. In major league history, only Singleton, Mantle, and Howard Johnson have switch-hit 35 or more HR in a season. Was an All-Star in 1977, 79, and 1981. Lifetime .282 246 HRs 1065 RBIs.

CHUCK STOBBS …( 2 weeks) 1 card. On April 7, 1953, Stobbs threw the pitch that Mickey Mantle hit out of Griffith Stadium for his famous 565-foot home run. The left handed pitcher played from 1947-61 for the Red Sox, White Sox, Senators , and Cardinals. Lifetime W107-L130 4.29 ERA.

JIM SUNDBERG ..(7/16/03-9/28) A heck of a defensive catcher that played from 1974-1989. He won the Gold Glove award 6 times from 1976-81. Was elected to the All-Star team in 1974,78, and 84. He gunned down 50% of basestealers in some years of his career.

KENT TEKULVE ..(5/31/02-6/7)1 card. The all-time major league leader in relief appearances with 1,050. He went 10-1 as a set-up man for Goose Gossage in 1977. GENE TENACE ..(5/17/03-5/23) Played 1st and behind the plate from 1969-83 for the A's, Padres, Cardinals, and Pirates. Had one heck of a series in the 1972 WS. He lead the A's in almost every win against my beloved Reds. He signed my baseball "72 W.S. MVP" as requested.

BOBBY THOMSON …(6/24/02-7/2) 1 baseball. He hit what is perhaps the most famous home run in baseball history. The "shot heard 'round the world" on October 3, 1951, a three-run, ninth-inning homer off Brooklyn pitcher Ralph Branca, capped the Giants' historic comeback to win the NL pennant. TOM TRESH ..(6/17/03-7/24) Played from 1961-69 for the Yankees and Tigers. He is the son of former ML catcher Mike Tresh. AL Rookie of the Year in 1962 when he hit .286, with 20 home runs and 93 RBI, for the Yankees. He also won a Gold Glove in 1965 and was an All-Star in 1962-63. He signed my baseball with "1962 ROY" as requested.Lifetime .245 153 HRs 530 RBIs.

JOHN TUDOR ...(6/9/04-6/21) 1 card. Pitched from 1979-90 Red Sox, Pirates, Cardinals, and Dodgers. His best year was 1985 when he was 21-8 with a 1.93 ERA and led the National League with ten shutouts. Finished 2nd in the Cy Young Award behind Dwight Gooden. Lifetime W117-L72 3.12ERA.

TOM UNDERWOOD ..(6/10/04-6/21) Pitched from 1974-1984 and was a decent pitcher. Lifetime W86-L87 3.89 ERA.

TOM VERYZER ..(9/7/04-10/13) Played from 1973-1984. Was the Tigers' everyday shortstop until someone called Alan Trammell replaced him. Lifetime .241 14 HRs 231 RBIs.

BILL VIRDON ..(1/21/03-2/3) 1 card. Rookie of the Year in 1955 that went on to play 12 seasons and won a Gold Glove in 1962. Went on to manage from 1972-84 for the Pirates, Yankees, Astros, and Expos. He included the autographed 3by5.

BILL WERBER ..(7/3/03-7/10) He was the first All-American basketball player at Duke University. Played from 1930-42. He led the AL in steals 1934,1935 and tied in 1937. He once reached second base on a walk while Detroit catcher Ray Hayworth was talking to the umpire. This 95 year old was the first batter to bat in a televised on August 26, 1939 which he included on the side panel. Was a member of the 1940 Cincinnati Reds which he included on the sweet spot as requested.

WILLIE WILSON ..(7/24/02-8/5) 1 card. He hit .300 for four successive seasons, and he had stolen more than 30 bases in 11 consecutive seasons through 1988. In 1980 Wilson became the 2ND player to collect 100 hits from each side of the plate in a season. He led the AL in triples 5 seasons. Sent c/o Lancaster JetHawks.. Lifetime .289 38 HRs 467 RBIs.

RICK WISE ..(9/3/03-9/21) Pitched 1964-1982 for several different teams. He had an interesting career. He was the winning pitcher in the sixth game of the 1975 World Series won by Carlton Fisk's dramatic home run. In June of 1971 he pitched a no-hitter and hit two home runs in the game, becoming the only pitcher in ML history to accomplish this feat. Was sent to his home with his $3 signing fee.Lifetime W188-L181 3.69 ERA.

GUS ZERNIAL ..(6/3/02-6/14) 1 card. Trailed only Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, and Larry Doby in American League in total homeruns in the 1950s. Led the AL in dingers in 1951 with 33 and also led the AL in RBIs with 129. In 1953, he stroked 42 HR, one less than league leader Al Rosen. Played OF-1B in 1949-59 for the Chicago White Sox, Philadelphia A's , Detroit Tigers.. Lifetime .265 237 HRs 776 RBIs.



DON ZIMMER ..(11/23/03-12/5) Played from 1954-1965 and made the All-Star team in 1961. He was the manager for the Red Sox, Rangers, and the Cubs. The last few years he has been sitting beside Torre as the Yankee's bench coach. I still have have the image of him being thrown to the ground by Pedro in the 2003 playoffs.
