This was a big victory for Trinity over a team ranked no. 21 by USA Today. Trinity was led by RB Donald Barnett, who carried the ball 26 times for 242 yards and two TDs. QB Brad Savko threw for 206 yards and two scores, and added a one yard scoring run. The fans had barely got into their seats when the fireworks began. Trinity's Steve Orndorff returned the opening kickoff 98 yards for a score and Chaminade-Julienne's star RB Javon Ringer returned the ensuing kickoff 99 yards. The score was tied 14-14 after the first quarter but Trinity scored twice in the second quarter to take a 28-14 halftime lead to takeover control of the game.
