Lexington Catholic (3-1) vs. Harrison County (2-2) September 23, 2005

Lexington Catholic trailed 30-13 at halftime but rallied to defeat Harrison County 39-37 as Brian Behr kicked a field goal with 36 seconds remaining on the clock.  The Knights trailed 30-20 with less than 10 minutes remaining in the game but pulled to within one point, 37-36, on a nine yard TD pass from Justin Burke to Jacob Locknane and a two point conversion run by Burke.  Lexington Catholic recovered a fumble and gained possession of the ball on the Harrison County 47 yard line with 2:49 remaining in the game.  Lexington Catholic drove the ball to the 26 yard line and on fourth-and-two, Behr kicked the game-winning field goal.

There were offensive fireworks galore tonight as the two teams combined for 1093 yards tonight.  Harrison County rolled up 561 yards with 458 yards coming on the ground, while Lexington Catholic gained 532 yards with 415 yards coming through the air.  Lexington Catholic was penalized seven times for 60 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.  Harrison County was flagged eight times for 50 yards and lost two fumbles.

Will Osborne led the Lexington Catholic gound game with 88 yards on 12 carries.  Justin Burke completed 30 of 45 passes for 415 yards with five touchdowns and one interception.  Cornell Burbage had a "monster" night with 13 receptions for 254 yards and two touchdowns.  Wes Caldwell caught eight passes for 104 yards with a score.  L. W. Martin led the Knight defense with eight solo and two assisted tackles.  Will Osborne added seven solo and two assisted tackles while Jacob Locknane recorded six solo and three assisted tackles.

James Custard led the Harrison County ground game with 161 yards on 17 carries.  Caleb Switzer added 122 yards and two scores on 19 carries.  Cory Britt chipped in with 95 yards and a TD on 14 carries while Lucas Wells recorded 72 yards and a TD on 12 carries.  Britt also completed three of five passes for 103 yards with a TD pass.  Julius Talbot caught two passes for 85 yards with a 69 yard scoring reception.  Talbot also paced the Cardinal defense with eight solo and two assisted tackles.  Chris Marshall added six solo tackles while Britt chipped in with five solo and two assisted tackles.
