South Laurel (9-2) vs. Henry Clay (10-1) November 11, 2005

South Laurel's freshman QB Rick Bowling has thrown for 2500 yards with 28 scoring strikes this season.  Zach Marcum has 53 receptions for 777 yards and 13 touchdowns this season.  Cory Brown has also caught 53 passes for 481 yards with six touchdowns.

Henry Clay's senior QB Salin Simpson passed for over 2000 yards with 24 touchdown strikes.  Simpson has also run for 538 yards and seven touchdowns.  Rod Johnson has gained 1554 yards on the ground with 24 touchdowns. 

Henry Clay rolled to a 21-0 first quarter lead on their way to a 60-18 victory over South Laurel.  Henry Clay's offense was explosive, both on the ground and through the air, and the defense shut down the South Laurel ground game tonight.  The Cardinals could only manage 30 yards on 23 carries for a 1.3 average rushing attempt.

Henry Clay held a 593-406 advantage in total yardage and a 26-19 margin in first downs.  Henry Clay held a 372-20 advantage in rushing yardage while South Laurel held a 376-221 advantage in passing yardage.  Henry Clay lost a fumble and was penalized eight times for 67 yards.  South Laurel had a pass intercepted and was flagged twice for 29 yards. 

Rod Johnson led the Henry Clay ground game with 166 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries.  Chase Minnefield carried the ball seven times for 137 yards with three touchdowns.  QB Salin Simpson completed 13 of 18 passes for 221 yards with two touchdowns.  Sam Gardner and Aaron Boyd caught three passes each for 50 and 46 yards respectively.  Clark Jeter added two receptions for 89 yards with one touchdown.  Lyle Wolf led the defense with seven solo and two assisted tackles. 

South Laurel QB Rick Bowling completed 31 of 52 passes for 376 yards with two TD passes and one interception.  Josh Riley caught eight passes for 120 yards and Cody Philpot added six receptions for 139 yards with a score.  Reece Schenkenfelder led the defense with five solo and two assisted tackles along with Jeff Ledford's five solo and three assisted tackles.
