Tates Creek (1-6) vs. Scott County (4-3) October 14, 2005

The Cody Andrews to Rodney Haddix aerial connection proved to be too much for Tates Creek as Scott County claimed a 35-14 victory at home.  The first quarter was scoreless but Andrews connected on 67 and 35 yard scoring strikes to Haddix to give the Cardinals a 14-0 halftime lead.  Haddix added a 50 yard scoring reception in the third quarter and Jimmie Warren added two TDs to offset an excellent performance by Tates Creek Soph RB Ty Sparks (213 yards on 26 carries).

Scott County utilized a balanced offense tonight as they ran for 254 yards and passed for 203 yards for a total of 457 yards.  Tates Creek had 322 yards of total offense with 294 yards coming on the ground.  Each team lost a fumble and had a pass intercepted.  Scott County was penalized five times for 40 yards while Tates Creek was flagged five times for 35 yards.  The Cardinals averaged 9.5 yards per offensive play while Tates Creek averaged 5.6 yards per play.

Jimmie Warren led Scott County's ground game with 140 yards and a touchdowns on 19 carries.  Keith Smith added 102 yards on 12 carries.  Cody Andrews completed seven of 11 passes for 203 yards with four touchdowns and one interception.  Rodney Haddix caught five passes for 168 yards with three touchdowns.  Jason Rusch led the Cardinal defense with six solo and 10 assisted tackles.  Sam Payne added five solo and five assisted tackles, while Mike Sberna recorded three solo and seven assisted tackles.

Ty Sparks led Tates Creek with 213 yards and two touchdowns on 26 rushing attempts.  Brandon Turner carried the ball 10 times for 34 yards.  Pete Nochta completed three of eight passes for 28 yards.  Chris Kirchner boomed three punts for a 46.7 average with two of the punts downed inside the 20 yard line.  Alan Meadors recorded five solo and four assisted tackles and Spencer Bridges added five solo and two assisted tackles.  Dale Smith chipped in with four solo and five assisted tackles.
