Lincoln County (7-1) vs. Scott County (7-1)

Scott County held on to defeat Lincoln County 20-18 in a thriller tonight.  Lincoln County held a 12-10 lead on the strength of two TD passes from Levi Rogers to Ryan Young late in the second quarter.  However, Scott County's Jay Wilmott kicked a 40 yard field goal as the horn blew to give Scott County a 13-12 lead at halftime.

Scott County took a 20-12 lead on a 13 yard run by Brandon Lawson and a conversion kick by Wilmott in the third quarter.  Trey Edwards pulled Lincoln County to within two, 20-18, with a one yard TD run with 1:59 left in the final period.  The key play on this drive was a 42 yard pass completion from Rogers to Young to the Scott County one yard line.  Lincoln County chose to attempt a two point conversion but Edwards was stuffed by Jarrod Stamper and Cody Hudson.  The Lincoln County defense then forced Scott County to punt.  Lincoln County cound not move the ball and turned it over on downs.  Lincoln County was held to a net two yards of rushing on 23 carries.

Scott County recorded 16 first downs and 310 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized 11 times for 111 yards and had one pass intercepted.  Lincoln County had 16 first downs and 257 yards of total offense.  The Patriots were penalized four times for 20 yards and had one pass intercepted. 

Jose Smith led the Scott County ground game with 120 yards and a TD on 18 carries.  Brandon Lawson added 58 yards and a TD on 16 carries.  Anthony Sandoval chipped in with 48 yards on 10 carries.  Lawson completed four of 13 passes for 83 yards with one interception.  Eric Sanders caught four passes for 83 yards.  Sam Payne led the defense with seven solo and four assisted tackles with three of his tackles totalling losses of six yards.  Andy Dumphord added four solo and three assisted tackles with two of his tackles totalling losses of 10 yards.  Ryan Wyant chipped in with two solo and three assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles totalling losses of 14 yards. 

Trey Edwards led Lincoln County's ground game with eight yards and a TD on nine carries.  Levi Rogers completed 13 of 30 passes for 255 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.  Ryan Young caught six passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns.  Dustin Brummett added three receptions for 40 yards.  Kody Reed led the defense with five solo and four assisted tackles.  Skyler Gilbert added three solo and nine assisted tackles.  Kody Reed also intercepted a pass.
