Playoffs

Friday December 5

Class A Playoffs

Hazard  28    Lexington Christian Academy  21
Hazard avenged an earlier 49-7 loss to LCA. QB Tyler Olinger completed nine of 12 passes for 171 yards including a 34 yard TD pass. Olinger also carried the ball 31 times for 105 yards and scored on runs of 1 and 13 yards. Michael Campbell a large physical receiver, caught six key passes for 120 yards.

Beechwood  34    Crittenden County  0
Nieco Teipel led the Tigers with 178 yards and TD runs of 8, 25, 37, and 4 yards on 26 carries.

Class 2A Playoffs

Newport Central Catholic  26    Corbin  7
Mark Kelly carried the ball 21 times for 106 yards with TD runs of 20 and 2 yards and Rob Kues added 105 yards on 13 carries and threw a TD pass to lead the Thoroughbreds to victory.

Ft. Campbell  34    Monroe County  18
Ft. Campbell outscored Monroe County 20-6 in the second half to break open a close game. Antonio Andrews and Troy Turner each scored two touchdowns.

Class 3A Playoffs

Central  49    Union County  21
Chance Hughes gained 128 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries to lead Central . Central also had some excellent performances on defense tonight including Mister Cobble, Tim Patterson, and Ridge Wilson.

Class 4A Playoffs

Bell County  17    Boyle County  15
Shawnta Zachery came up big on both sides of the ball to hand Boyle County their first loss of the season.

Bullitt East  52    Calloway County  49
Zach McCarthy gained 338 yards on the ground and scored on runs of 19, 1, 2, and 2 yards to lead Bullitt East to victory.Calloway County QB Casey Brockman completed 21 of 34 passes for 356 yards and TD passes of 23, 10, 25, 26, 7, and 10 yards.

Class 5A Playoffs

Highlands  42    Whitley County  16
QB Tony Guidugli threw for a TD and ran for two TDs as the Bluebirds cruised into the championship game.

Christian County  35    John Hardin  29
Christian County improves to 13-1 with a victory over John Hardin .

Class 6A Playoffs

Trinity  28    St. Xavier  21
The Shamrocks had superstar performances on both sides of the ball as they defeat their arch-rival to avenge an earlier loss. RB Tim Phillips gained 190 yards and three touchdowns and LB Jordan Whiting recorded 18 tackles.

Simon Kenton  28    Male  10
RB Miles Simpson continues his stellar play with 166 yards and TD runs of 5, 1, and 66 yards on 17 carries. Chad Lawrence added to the Pioneer's ground dominance with 149 yards and a TD on 18 carries.
