Fern Creek (7-3) vs. Scott County (9-2)

Scott County held on in the closing seconds to escape with a 41-35 victory over Fern Creek.  Fern Creek QB Bryan Hynes threw a pass of over 50 yards into the end zone that was incomplete as time expired.  Scott County led 41-21 with less than eight minutes left in the game before Fern Creek scored two touchdowns to narrow the margin.  Special teams hurt Fern Creek as Scott County recovered the ball at the Fern Creek six yard line after a high snap on a punt attempt and later recovered the ball at the Fern Creek 18 after a blocked punt.  Both of these fourth quarter miscues led to Scott County touchdowns.

Scott County recorded 17 first downs and 308 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized five times for 45 yards.  Fern Creek had 18 first downs and 448 yards of total offense.  They were penalized four times for 20 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted. 

Jose Smith led the Scott County ground game with 127 yards and three touchdowns on 38 carries.  Anthony Sandoval added 83 yards and a TD on nine carries.  Josh Walls recorded 34 yards and a TD on two carries.  Corey Cronin completed all five of his passes for 70 yards and a TD.  Anthony Sandoval caught three passes for 26 yards and a TD.  Josh Walls added two receptions for 44 yards.  Victor Brent led the defense with four solo tackles.  Chris Ramey added two solo and three assisted tackles. 

Jerrell Moore led the Fern Creek ground game with 49 yards and a touchdown on four carries.  Bryan Hynes carried the ball five times for 31 yards.  Hynes completed 18 of 30 passes for 385 yards and four touchdowns with one interception.  Jimmie Welch caught five passes for 88 yards.  Jal. Harrington added four receptions for 29 yards.  Carlos Smith caught three passes for 104 yards and a TD.  Jerrell Moore recorded three receptions for 86 yards and two touchdowns.  Victor Terry also caught three passes for 68 yards and a touchdown.  Reggie Smith led the defense with five solo and four assisted tackles.  Taj Jarrett added three solo and eight assisted tackles.
