Game One
Hazard (0-0) vs. Green County (0-0)

Coach Mark Dixon's Hazard Bulldogs finished 13-1 last season and should be one of the top contenders for the Class 1A championship this season.  The Bulldogs offense will be triggered by 6-0 215 pound Sr. QB Tyler Olinger who can beat you with either his arm or his feet.  Olinger went over the 3,000 yardage mark in passing and ran for over 1,000 yards last season.  5-8 170 pound Sr. RB Greg Adams ran for over 1,600 yards last season.  6-3 230 pound Sr. Michael Campbell is a force either catching the ball or as a linebacker. 

Coach Mike Griffiths' Green County Dragons finished 11-1 last season and will once again be one of the contenders for the 2A crown.  The Dragons return a lot of experience and an excellent option attack.  6-0 190 pound Sr. QB Justin Pendleton will trigger the offense.  6-0 190 pound Sr. Zeth Rogers and 6-9 170 pound Jr. TB Ricky Garrett whould provide added punch on the ground.

Green County rolled up 502 yards rushing and QB Justin Pendleton ran for six touchdowns to earn a 48-39 victory over Hazard.  Green County led 24-20 early in the fourth quarter but Hazard drove to the Green County one yard line.  Hazard QB Tyler Olinger fumbled on a run and Green County recovered at their one yard line.  The Dragons got a little breathing room as Zeth Rogers ran 99 yards for a TD on the next play.  Green County led 42-26 with 3:30 left in the game but Hazard mounted a furious comeback to pull within three, 42-39 with 2:25 left in the game.  Justin Pendleton scored on a three yard run with 1:20 left in the game to finally settle the issue.

Green County recorded 17 first downs and 532 yards of total offense.  The Dragons were penalized five times for 48 yards and lost two fumbles.  Hazard recorded 18 first downs and 586 yards of total offense.  The Bulldogs were penalized eight times for 59 yards, lost three fumbles, and had two passes intercepted. 

Ricky Garrett led the Green County ground game with 182 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.  Justin Pendleton carried the ball 15 times for 168 yards and six TDs.  Zeth Rogers recorded 144 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.  Pendleton completed four of nine passes for 30 yards.  Seth Jones caught two passes for 15 yards.  6-2 195 pound Sr. DE Wes Jaggers was named player of the game for Green County and led the defense with 10 solo tackles, three assisted tackles, and one interception.  Donovan Burton added seven solo and one assisted tackles. 

Greg Adams was named player of the game for Hazard and led the Hazard ground game with 117 yards and one touchdown on eight carries.  Tyler Olinger carried the ball 17 times for 61 yards and a TD.  Olinger completed 16 of 26 passes for 362 yards and four touchdowns with two interceptions.  Michael Campbell caught six passes for 120 yards.  Greg Adams added five receptions for 173 and three touchdowns.  Alex Hall led the defense with 10 solo tackles.  Michael Campbell added five solo and one assisted tackles.

Game Two
Indianapolis Bishop Chatard (1-0) vs. Lexington Catholic (0-0)

Coach Vincent Lorenzo's Bishop Chatard Trojans have captured the last three Indiana Class 3A Championships.  The powerful offensive line is anchored by 6-5 275 pound Sr. Zach Martin, who has announced his commitment to Notre Dame. 

Coach Bill Letton's Lexington Catholic Knights finished 13-2 last season and captured the Class 4A Championship.  Lexington Catholic lost 15 of 22 starters and graduated 34 seniors, but the cupboard is far from bare.  6-1 187 pound Jr. QB Nic Ward completed passes for 2488 yards and 23 touchdowns last season.  5-6 170 pound Jr. Greg Raglin and 5-11 227 pound Sr. Devon Williams are expected to lead the ground game this season.  6-3 230 pound Sr. TE Daniel Vogelsang recently announced he will play football at Wake Forest.

Bishop Chatard utilized a powerful running game to defeat Lexington Catholic 31-7.  The victors led 14-0 at half time on the strength of 178 yards and two touchdowns by 6-1 205 pound Jr. TB Aristotle Pappas, who did not carry the ball in the second half.  Lexington Catholic could never get on track tonight as they were held to 132 total yards.

Bishop Chatard recorded 11 first downs and 344 yards of total offense.  The Trojans were penalized five times for 43 yards and had a pass intercepted.  Lexington Catholic recorded four first downs, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted. 

Aristotle Pappas was named player of the game for Bishop Chatard and led the ground game with 178 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries.  Andrew McDonald carried the ball 15 times for 83 yards and two touchdowns.  Jack Treesh added 44 yards on three carries.  Steve Commiskey completed two of eight passes for 25 yards with one interception.  T. J. Agnew caught one pass for 16 yards.  Daniel Hurrle led the defense with four solo, two assisted tackles, and one interception.  .

Lee Ramsey led the Lexington Catholic ground game with 48 yards and a TD on seven carries.  Greg Raglin carried the ball twice for 35 yards.  Nic Ward completed five of 16 passes for 28 yards with two interceptions.  John Sam Steele completed three of five passes for 26 yards.  Jonathan Bush caught three passes for 14 yards.  Adam Bowe added two receptions for 15 yards.  6-1 194 pound Sr. SS Jake Conner was named player of the game for Lexington Catholic and led the defense with nine solo and one assisted tackles.  Bill Jacoby recorded eight solo tackles.
