Legendary R&B/Soul Singer Teena Marie's Single 'Still In Love' #2 Most Added at Urban Adult Contemporary Radio
New CD 'La Dona' features collaborations with Gerald Levert, MC Lyte, Medusa, Rick James and Others. Cash Money Classics/Universal Records Set to Release Debut CD 'La Dona' May 11th
NEW YORK, March 4 /PRNewswire/ -- The original "blue-eyed" Soul/R&B singer, Teena Marie's first single "Still In Love," from her upcoming debut CD La Dona is the #2 most added single at Urban Adult Contemporary Radio. After a thirteen-year absence from radio, Teena Marie returns with "Still In Love," which was co-produced by Ms. Marie and Cash Money's resident hit-maker Mannie Fresh. The song received a total of 30 adds her first week at radio, coming in #3 at WHUR (Washington), #9 at KJLH (Los Angles) and #7 at WMXD (Detroit), garnering a listening audience of a whopping 5.5 million and growing. "Still In Love," is receiving 400 spins at radio including New York's WBLS (107.5), WRKS (KISS-FM) and WQHT (Hot 97).
Ms. Marie's debut CD on Cash Money Classics/Universal Records, La Dona is slated in be in-stores on May 11th and features collaborations with R&B crooner Gerald Levert on "A Rose," rappers MC Lyte and the up and coming underground Los Angeles based hip-hop artist Medusa on "The Mackin Game." La Dona also contains a reunion with soul/funk pioneer Rick James on "I Got You."
Ms. Marie is currently completing domestic spot dates (some with Rick James). Detroit can catch Teena Marie performing with Rick James at Fox Theater in Detroit on March 21st.

5/31/00: In addition to performing, Teena is scheduled to recieve the 2000 VIBE Props Award at the Vibe Live 2000 Black Music Month celebration taking place June 8-10 at Downtown Disney Pleasure Island in Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Admission to the event, taking place at both the Hub and West End stages of Pleasure Island and beginnining at 7:30 pm, is $20 including tax nightly.
The three-day event features several R&B and hip-hop performers and Teena's performance is the last of the event, taking place on Saturday, June 10. For more detailed information, please contact Pleasure Island information at 407-934-7781.
