monitoring the environmental impact of all the project construction related
activities and prepares reports on the matter with corresponding
recommendations. Conducts environmental management researches and other related
studies in cooperation with the local government officials. Evaluates all the public issues raised on any undertaking of the
Project, which correspond to the management of the environment and submits
report to the PMU Director. Prepares briefing materials and other explanatory paraphernalias
as to the program of activities undertaken to safeguard the influenced
environs of the project. Conducts inter-agency meetings to gather and disseminate
information regarding the environmental safeguard of the project. Attends and initiates public inter-activities regarding the
effects on the environment of the projects and submit to the PMU a finding
report. As a Project Officer of Project
Management Unit (funded by USAID), I was able to write and produce a
newsletter concerning the projects undertaken within SOCSARGEN (South
Cotabato, Sarangani and General Santos City) by the Area Development Project,
Project Management Unit. Some of the project were as
follows: GSC Fishport, the new GSC
International Airport, Makar Port Improvements Project, Tampakan Mini-Hydro
Power Plant and Construction of Air Cargo Terminal and Cold Storage
Facilities at the GSC Airport. Most
of these projects were funded by USAID. Copies of the newsletter were widely
distributed to all Government Offices and Non-Government sectors all through
out the Country. |
