It Was a Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Good Night

I wrote this song right after returning from a great concert one evening. It was running through my head, and I stayed up late to figure it all out before I went to bed.

Verse 1
Do you remember when we went to go see Third Day
In Lafayette on Tuesday night (Paul Coleman Trio and Tait also played)?
On the way I found out that my eyes see colors differently—
And we jammed out to ASU and talked about how their videos should be.
Awkwardly, we hung out with my ex-girlfriend’s friends and mom.
But all is well that ends well, and that’s why I wrote this song...

Chorus
It was a really, really, really, really, really,
Really, really, really, really, really, really, good night.
It was a really, really, really, really, not unreally,
Not unreally, really, really, really, really, really, good night.

Verse 2
At Third Day the bass was loud and I thought my brain would die,
But it did not to my surprise, and on the way home I held you tight.
We were both stressed ‘cause of lots of tests and others things we had to do,
But things turned out AOK ‘cause we both know who to hold onto.

Verse 3
My truck got covered in bird droppings ‘cause I parked under a bird-filled tree.
On the way home we listened to the new Nickel Creek CD.
Then you took me to our favorite spot and told me that you love me.
It was not the first time, but it still made me smile, and I kissed you a thousand times on the cheek.

Verse 4
This very same night I found my new word "dinosaurs" which I like,
And I when I went home my right eye was not seeing things exactly right.
Then I went home and it was late, but I stayed up to write this song anyway
So I could remember this really good night the next time I had a not-so-great day.
