MALAYSIAN BETTING SYNDICATE IMPLICATED AS HAWTHORN WINS THE LAPSLEY
Police were called to the Waterfront tonight following Fraser Gray's shock defeat to Ronnie Hawthorn, while Officers are believed to have closed off a large area of Broomhill in Glasgow. Gray's seemingly unstoppable march towards Jock Service's 4th trophy of the season came to an abrupt halt as Hawthorn's team turned in a tremendous performance to come out on top by 9-4. After a tight first 3 ends, Hawthorn played a long raised take out to the button with 3 against him, and ably supported by A Hendry, P Boyd and A n other Hendry saw the game out from there. Winning Rink; Ronnie Hawthorn, Alasdair Hendry, Tom Kane and Peter Boyd, with Andrew Hendry reserving for Tom in the final. After the way the Gourdie finished, some may think that Tom's absence wasn't a coincidence!
