Fire Side Cowboy Chats to Make You Laugh and Cry

Hello, my name is Butch. I was Born and Raised in Monroe, Louisiana on a bitter cold day in November of 1948.   That makes be a Baby Boomer and an old hippie- so I don't know what I am doing. I did inhale.

I went to Neville High School, Northeast Louisiana University, Louisiana State University, and finally Regents College in Albany New York.

In 1969, during the heart of the Vietnam War, I dropped out of Northeast and signed on the dotted line for the United States Air Force to see the world and find something to do.  Frankly, I was not that good at college.

I drifted around in the Air Force for 13 years.   I inspected parachutes and issued survival equipment, and taught survival at McClelland AFB, California, and Altus AFB, Oklahoma  I also operated the Air Port at Altus AFB.

The Air Force really did not do that much for me until I entered the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine.  It broke classes down to a level that I could comprehend.  I learned about Environmental Health and Engineering.  In this field, I worked at Altus AFB, RAF Alconbury, England, UK., and Eglin AFB, Florida.   You might say I moved around for 13 years.

I got fed up with military life in 1983 and decided to burn my ID card and go home.  I settled in Baton Rouge, about the only place where they need environmental people because the only real pollution in Louisiana is in Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

Like I said, I am an old hippie.  I have been around forever.  I have been a cowboy, a lover, a baseball player, a baseball coach, an umpire, a football player, a writer, a photographer, and a coffee door to door salesman.  I have been a farmer, a hunter, a fisherman, a fisher of men, a father, a husband, a foster parent, an Indian, a candle stick maker, an outlaw, a river boat pirate, and a gambler.

I have been writing pages on the Internet since 1998, mostly jotting down my opinions.  I have a lot of opinions.  Most are about controversial subjects such as raising your kids or the fallacies of the criminal justice system.  Some of the pages are just fire side chats about things like true American Heros that I have met.  You will also see and hear lots of music and sounds on my pages.  The pages are full of photographs and images and you may enjoy them.

Let me know if you like my pages.  Your comments are my only reward.
