Mexican Cornbread

Mexican cornbread

1 cup cormeal
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp soda
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 med. onion
3 pods jalapeno peppers
1 (8oz) can creamstyle corn
1/2 lb mild cheddar cheese
1-2 lbs shrimp

Saute shrimp and butter on stove, set aside. Mix corn meal, soda, salt,then add milk and eggs. Beat well after each additoin. Add rest of ingredients and sauteed shrimp all together. Cook for 45 minutes in a shallow pan at 350 degrees. This recipe is for one small square pan. If using oblong pan, double the recipe
