Nagin sees the explosion of crime in NOLA as a "two edged sword
I can't keep up with the miles-long list of reasons that Nagin is a useless mayor.
Imagine this, Ray,Ray. Corruption being uncovered
in your office....
Is C-Ray getting into the real estate business in NOLA? Check out this link
Here's another shining example of Nagin's idiotic comments (thanks to American Zombie)
Ray Nagin, in his own words, discussing former New Orleans Police Superintendent Eddie Compass post Katrina:
NAGIN'S GAME.
September 2005
Fairfax, VA-The National Rifle Association (NRA ) has filed a
motion for contempt against the City of New Orleans, the mayor
and the acting chief of police for failure to comply with a
temporary restraining order, handed down September 12, 2005,
ordering an end to all illegal gun confiscations. "With
looters, rapists and other thugs running rampant in New Orleans,
Ray Nagin issued an order to disarm all law-abiding citizens,"
declared Wayne LaPierre, NRA executive vice president. "With no
law enforcement and 911 available, he left the victims
vulnerable by stripping away their only means of defending
themselves and their loved ones. Now Ray Nagin thinks he's above
the law, and that's just wrong."
Here's a piece of the story
INDIANAPOLIS Aug 18, 2006 (AP) New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin on Friday blamed racism and government bureaucracy for hamstringing his city's ability to weather Hurricane Katrina and recover from the disaster that struck the Gulf Coast nearly a year ago.
In remarks to the annual meeting of the National Association of Black Journalists, Nagin said the hurricane "exposed the soft underbelly of America as it relates to dealing with race and class."
"And I, to this day, believe that if that would have happened in Orange County, California, if that would have happened in South Beach, Miami, it would have been a different response," Nagin said.
In mid July, the Nagin administration published this schedule to commemorate the one year anniversary of Katrina.

Not only is he responsible for the deaths of the poor, black people in New Orleans during/after Katrina,
Can anyone tell me the difference in the "racism" of Jack Strain's comments versus Ray Nagin's?
Here are a few things "Ray-Ray" has said in the past 6 months:
At a town hall meeting in October 2005, Nagin said: "I can see in your eyes, you want to know, 'How do I take advantage of this incredible opportunity? How do I make sure New Orleans is not overrun with Mexican workers?'", referring to the influx of Mexican laborers coming to New Orleans to help rebuild the city. Hispanic groups, including the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, criticized Nagin's statement as prejudiced , although those attending the town hall meeting reportedly applauded many in the area believe the jobs should instead go to local workers displaced by the hurricane.
We ask black people: it's time. It's time for us to come together. It's time for us to rebuild a New Orleans, the one that should be a chocolate New Orleans. And I don't care what people are saying Uptown or wherever they are. This city will be chocolate at the end of the day.
This city will be a majority African-American city. It's the way God wants it to be. You can't have New Orleans no other way; it wouldn't be New Orleans."
Discussing his opponents in his bid for re-election of Mayor, Mr. Nagin played the race card, reminding black audiences that his white opponents "don't look like us."
'Childhood Antics of a h Man'
Not while Ray Nagin's in office. Mr. good guy is still bad news for the city.
Ray, you're a loser in my book

His feelings: The biggest problem with Nagin is not his casual demeanor or laid back leadership style but the fact that he's not very bright. He's a dim bulb, a dumb ass, a dummy. There's an argument to be made that pre-K, he was a useful idiot. But in the post-K crisis he's a useless idiot, which is the worst kind.
His commanders expressed serious concerns about him, he was on a fairly regular basis making statements to the press that were somewhat illogical, Nagin said.
USA Today, gets it, Ray Why don't YOU?
Here is an excerpt:
As the water receded, a smaller, sadder New Orleans looked to Mayor Ray Nagin and the City Council for leadership. They responded with chaos. The symbol of their failure is New Orleans' lack of a citywide plan to rebuild the first essential step toward renewal. Without a plan, residents don't know whether city services, utilities and other families will return to their old neighborhoods. So decisions about rebuilding are deferred and residents stay away, compounding the failure.
A new report out from the Rockefeller institute says the New Orleans rebuild is slowed down because of local lack of planning.....
And who's fault is that? Could it be the mayor who has shown an inability to make decisions, to be honest with voters, and who abandoned his own planning process, killing it?
What a maroon!!!
from ABC News, ole Ray Ray is still trying to run away from blame.

Ray Nagin, snake....apparently, they can't have fireworks and comedy due to "logistical problems" read about it here
Oh, Ray, you asshole.
now he's traveling the country trying to convince people that he's a pro at "crisis management!
Here's another gem:
"And as we think about rebuilding New Orleans, surely God is mad at America, he's sending hurricane after hurricane after hurricane and it's destroying and putting stress on this country.
Surely he's not approving of us being in Iraq under false pretense. But surely he's upset at black America, also. We're not taking care of ourselves. We're not taking care of our women. And we're not taking care of our children when you have a community where 70 percent of its children are being born to one parent.
Courtesty of The American Zombie blog
"I just caught word from one of my friends who works as a lobbyist in the Louisiana State Legislature of another gloriously stupid move made by Sugar Ray Nagin. He recently sent bags of Oreos to a handful of African-American politicians who supported Mitch Landrieu in the Mayoral election... including Karen Carter and Ann Duplessis among others."
New Orleans' government is still extremely dysfunctional.
Is there any way out of their nightmare?
