My Youth Asylum Experiences

My experiences with the boys!
August 22, 1999 Fashion Square Mall:
On August 22, 1999 my Dad, my sister, and I went to the Fashion Square Mall. Our Dad heard an ad on the radio the night before about a Tommy Hilfiger fashion show and a performance by a hot new boy band there. Well, I am the boy band *Queen* so of course I jumped at the chance! We got down there and watched the fashion show and then YA, then Young Americans, came out. They performed and I fell in love with Kevy immediatley. After they performed, an announcement was made that we could get their autographs in the Junior department. A mad dash of girls started going through the mall trying to find the quickest way to get downstairs. I made it there in record time. I just had to meet them! We waited for about a half hour and then they were there. Everyone got promo pictures and a huge poster to be signed personally by each member of YA. I said hi to each of the guys as they signed my poster and then I got to Kevy. We talked about Hanson cuz I was wearing a Hanson shirt and laughed and smiled. It was so nice. I'll never forget how nice they were to me, both times I met them. They are truly one of the nicest bands I've ever met. Cute, talented, and sweet, that's YA!

November 19, 2000 Young Star Awards:
My Dad works at CBS and that is where the awards were held so I got in without a problem. I hung out all day waiting for YA to come. When I was walking down the halls for the millionth time I saw them standing there! I went around so they could see my face, but I was too late and they turned and started walking down the hall. I ran around to the other side and kind of cornered them LOL! That's when I made eye contact with Kevin. He gasped and went, "Hanson shirt! Amanda!". I couldn't beleive that after all that time he remembered me. (From the first time at Fashion Square Mall on August 22, 1999!) I love that guy! I watched them get their make-up done and talked to Flash about how I still have their poster on my wall. They were so sweet. After a while they had to go outside and walk down the red carpet, so I gave Kevin a hug (he's a really good hugger!) and stood at the entrance. This time I wasn't waiting for them. I was waiting to see my fave actor, Erik von Detten. Well, I'm sure you don't care about that so I'll get back to YA LOL! They opened the show and there was a technical problem so they had to be introduced and come out all over again. I was cracking up! When they were singing I was at the side of the stage. They are so good live! I really wanna see them again!

Well, those are my YA experiences (so far! heehee). I hope you enjoyed reading them!
