Chapter 8
Jay showed up at 8 on the dot. He looked at Aly who was wearing a light blue sundress, and stared at her for a few seconds.
“You look gorgeous,” he told her as he handed her a bouquet of flowers. Aly smiled and thanked him and took the flowers.
“You ready to go?” he asked as she took his hand. They said goodbye to Adam and Max who were “watching” a movie on Max’s bed.
“So where are you taking me this time?” she asked as they stepped outside.
“You’ll find out,” he laughed, “but I need to know, do you trust me?”
“Of course I do Jay!” she demanded, “You know I do!”
“Good, cause…” he said as he pulled out a bandanna, “I really want to surprise you, and I need you to wear this.”
Aly stared at his innocent face and back at the bandanna, “fine,” she agreed finally, Jay smiled and placed the bandanna around her head and tied it softly.
“You ok?” Jason asked Aly.
“Yup,” she said, “except I can’t see anything!”
“Good,” he said as she picked Alison up and carried her towards the beach.

Alison realized they were at the beach, she could hear the waves pounding the shore. Jason placed her on her feet and took off her blindfold. Alison stared at the empty beach.
“Jay, what are we doing here?” she asked with a raised eyebrow.
He took her hand, “Come on, I’ll show you.” Alison raced along the beach for a few yards and gasped as they came to a stop at a blanket surrounded by candles and flowers.
“Did you do this Jay?” she asked as she stared at the setting.
Jay nodded and led her to the blanket, sitting her down across from him. “I did this because I need to tell you something,” Jay said slowly, “Aly, you mean a lot to me, and I care a lot about you, and after today I realized that I can share anything with you… and I know we haven’t known each other long, but Aly…” he trailed off, her eyes burning into his, “I think I’m falling in love with you.”
Aly felt her whole body go numb and she felt the same way. She had felt that way since the first day they had met, her face was frozen and her heart was beating as she realized this was the man she loved.
“Aly?” he asked, “Will you say something?”
Aly stared at him and then threw herself into his arms, “I love you Jay!” she said as she kissed him passionately and let her emotions take over.

Alison opened her hotel door quietly, as she looked at her watch, 4:35am. She looked at Max’s bed, who was sleeping. Alison let out a sigh of relief; she didn’t want to explain to her friend where she had been and what happened. She silently changed her clothes and climbed into her bed. Just as Alison closed her eyes as she felt something jump on her bed, she let out a little cry. She opened her eyes and stared into the anxious eyes of Max.
“Max!” Alison cried, “What are you doing?”
“What happened?” Max said excitedly, “Where were you?” Alison laughed at her friend who was acting like a 12 year old.
“I was with Jay,” Alison said simply.
“Where with Jay?” Max asked.
“On the beach,” she said with a sly look on her face.
“On the beach?” Max asked, “Oh my… did you and Jay have…”
“Yup,” Alison said cutting off her friend.
“On the beach?” Max asked amazed, “Oh my gosh, Aly! That’s so romantic, you are so lucky!”
“Can I go to bed now?” Aly asked, “I’m so tired!”
“I bet you are!” Max joked as Aly hit her with a pillow, “But what happened, I mean how did you end up on the beach?”
“Well,” Aly said praying that after she explained this to Max, she’d be able to go to sleep, “We had our date earlier, then he dropped me off here and told me to be ready by 8. When he came he blindfolded me and carried me to the beach, where he had set up a blanket and candles and he told me that he loved me,” Max let out a sigh as Aly continued, “it was so romantic with the moon and the waves, it was just so amazing and…” Aly trailed off, then she continued, “after I was just lying in his arms, and… I just can’t describe how I feel when I’m around him, its incredible!”
“Wow,” Max said, “that’s so awesome, I’m happy you found somebody, especially after this whole Tom thing.” Just hearing the name sent chills down Aly’s spine.
“Can I go to bed now?” Alison asked, upset that Max had to mention Tom when she was so elated about Jason.
“Sure,” Max said picking up on Aly’s moodiness, “Goodnight,” she said as she climbed into her bed.
“Night Max,” Aly said as she pulled her covers up and closed her eyes.
