A Different View: Issue 1

I missed some of Raw so I’m going to skip right over that and move to Smackdown! which I also missed, but saw some footage of. First off, congratulations on Edge for beating Kurt and being able to keep his hair. Although I didn’t see Judgement day, I heard lots about it, and am almost sure that once again Edge and Angle stole the show.
As for the newly bald Angle, I was so excited to see him in his Mr. Clean look. When I saw him in that wig, I almost died laughing. Kurt is such a great superstar all around, not only is he an amazing wrestler, but he works that mic so well, and he’s not afraid to try anything with for the WWE (i.e.: shaving his head).
It was great to see Maven come out and rib Angle. I really like Maven, I think he’s still very humble and has worked so hard. Anyone who says he’s had it easy, I think they need to think again. Maven is definitely a hard worker and deserves everything he is getting. It was great to see him on the mic.
I was pleasantly delighted to see the Edge/Christian rivalry be brought back. It’s one I just can’t get sick of. The 2 of them (along with Kurt) have so much chemistry between themselves and always put on a great match.
I love seeing Randy Orton on WWE TV. I saw pictures of him and saw him live twice, but it’s great to see him on television. Besides being extremely good-looking, he is so talented in the ring and his matches with Hardcore Holly have been fantastic!
Any angle involving the Hurricane I love! It’s great to see him getting a storyline with a “stalker”. Rumors have been flying around the internet about who it may be, and 2 of the most likely candidates are Shannon Moore and Rey Misterio Jr. Both Moore and Misterio are supposed to be brought to television in the near future, and this would be an excellent angle for both the cruiserweights to debut in.
Did anyone check out Velocity and Confidential Saturday night? Round of applause for the WWE, I enjoyed both shows very much. I’m hoping they can keep the quality of both shows up after it’s debut, but am pretty sure that like Excess, the quality will continually decrease.
On Velocity, Billy Kidman took on Tajiri and it was an awesome match to say the least. I love Kidman’s style and was psyched that he won after Torrie Wilson came out and distracted Tajiri. I’m really starting to like Torrie and her character, and am glad she’s finally getting into a good angle where she’s more important. I’m hoping an in-ring relationship will develop between her and her real life beau Kidman.
As for Confidential, I was really psyched to see them update Lita’s condition. Anyone who tells me she and Matt Hardy aren’t together in real life should bite their tongues and not talk to me. I’m glad to see Lita making so much progress in her recovery and hope that she gets well fast! My prayers are with her.
Ivory’s segment on breast implants was awesome! Ivory is my favorite diva, she’s talented, beautiful, and so funny and her speech was great. I’ve always considered breast implants for myself and after hearing the way she talked about it last night, made me consider it even more. She had a lot of good points involving feeling more comfortable and confident, and I say GO IVORY! She rocks!
And lastly on Confidential, there was the tour of Trish Stratus’ beautiful home. This knockoff segment of MTV’s “Cribs” was pretty interesting, seeing where the woman’s champion lives while not on the road, but mostly it was a gimmick for the WWE to advertise, seeing as Trish had WWE action figures, books, and movies, and those were the main part of the show.
Since we’re on the topic of divas, I’m going to devote a whole section to this topic. With 2 of the WWE’s top divas out, Lita and Jazz, I think it’s about time they move up woman like Ivory, Jackie, and Molly. These 3 ladies, in my opinion, are the 3 best female wrestlers the WWE has to offer, and while Molly had been active, Jackie and Ivory have both been rather quiet. Ivory definitely deserves to be moved to Raw, where she can actually be in the woman’s race.
I’m loving Molly’s new gimmick. It’s great to see her getting TV time and become more of a diva. She is so talented and I definitely see her becoming the woman’s champion in the near future.
I’m completely and totally irked by the fact that Stacy Kiebler has had 2 title shots in the past weeks, while deserving woman such as Ivory and Jackie haven’t had one in months! Stacy getting a push in the woman’s division is complete BS in my mind.
I think it’s about time they brought Nidia to WWE television. With the blow to the woman’s division, I think it would be great if they brought her to Smackdown along with a few other promising OVW divas.
Anyone catch Tough Enough this week? I was really upset to see Pete leave, but expected that Anni would be cut. Both of them deserve a lot of credit and went through so much with the show. I was really impressed on how Jackie worked through her leg injury, I think it showed the trainers and judges just how much she wants the contract and how determined she is. My predicted winners are Jackie and Jake. Jake because he’s really starting to develop as a wrestler and a personality, and that is really what the WWE is looking for.
Onto a completely different topic, I’d like to talk about some fan fiction. First of all, I’d like to thank everyone who nominated and voted for me in IBF’s Influentials. I was completely overwhelmed and surprised of the amount of categories I moved to finals in, thanks so much everyone!
My story “Running Away” should be drawing to a close in the next few weeks although I only have a few chapters posted. I’ve been doing a lot of writing lately and it’s close to completion. After that is complete expect a Matt Hardy/ Amy Dumas (Lita) story and possibly a Shane Helms story.
I think that’s about it for this week. I should be back next week with another issue. This is your webmissy signing out!
Rock on
Beth
