Chapter 1
Adam Copeland sat on his bed reading his script for the taping of Raw is War later that night. He chuckled to himself as he read some of his lines; he had to act like such a dork sometimes. At least he wasn’t alone; he had his best friend and tag team partner Jason Reso acting like a jackass right next to him.
“Guess who I just talked to,” Jason said as he walked through the door.
“Who?” Adam asked looking up from his script; he hated guessing games.
“Megan,” Jason answered, smiling as he named his cousin that was more like his little sister, even though they were about the same age.
“I haven’t talked to her in forever,” Adam said, “How’s little Meg doing?”
“She just finished college and is actually going to come travel with us for the summer,” Jason told him, “I can’t wait to see her, you know how close we are.”
“Yeah,” Adam said feeling a little nervous, “It’ll be good to see her. When is she coming?”
“I’m going to pick her up at the airport Friday,” Jason informed him, “I have to go, I told Matt and Jeff I’d meet them for a workout at 1, you want to come?”
“No thanks, I’ll stay here,” Adam said.
“Ok, well I’ll be back later, see ya,” he said as he walked out the door.
“Yeah, later,” Adam called as he leaned back and let out a breath, trying to collect his thoughts. He had so much he never told Jason… about him and Megan… he closed his eyes and took another deep breath.
~~~~~~~~~~*FLASHBACK*~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A 16-year-old Adam knocked on the door to the large white house.
“Hey Adam,” A pretty blond said as she opened the door, “Come on in.”
“Thanks,” he said to Megan, he was used to her being here. Her parents traveled a lot so she usually stayed with her aunt and uncle. He looked at her quickly. She was really short for a 15 year old, like 5’2 and Adam and Jason loved teasing her about it. Adam smiled as he looked at her, he had an attraction to her, but it was his best friend’s cousin, not something he wanted to deal with.
“Where’s Jay?” Adam asked as he followed Meg into the kitchen.
“In the shower, he’ll be out in a minute. You want a drink?” she asked.
“Sure,” he said hopping up onto the kitchen counter, Meg grabbed two cans of soda and handed one to him, then took a place on a stool next to the counter.
“Adam can I ask you a question?” she asked feeling a little nervous as she ran a hand through her curly hair.
“Shoot,” he said.
“Do you think I’m pretty?” she asked, her cheeks turning pink.
“Sure,” he said running his hands through his shoulder length hair, “I mean, I’m sure lots of guys find you attractive.”
“No,” she said as she let out an exasperated sigh, “Do you find me pretty. Am I the type of girl you’re attracted to?”
“I don’t know,” he said, a little confused, “I mean, you’re my best friend’s kid cousin, so I don’t look at you that way. You’re like a sister to me.”
“Oh,” she said as she looked down at the floor, fighting back tears. She knew she was some teenage girl with a stupid crush but she couldn’t help it. She found Adam so gorgeous, and she saw him so much and they were so close…
“Hey you guys, what’s going on?” Jason asked as he walked into the kitchen.
“Nothing, I’m actually going,” Megan said as she stood up.
“You don’t wanna play some basketball with us?” Jason asked, “I promise I’ll go easy on you,” he joked.
Megan quickly looked at Adam, “That’s ok, maybe next time,” she said as she walked out of the room, “I’ll talk to you guys later.”
“Bye,” they both called after her.
“What was that about?” Jason asked after Megan left.
Adam shrugged, “you ready to go?” he asked picking up a basketball and walking out the door with Jason following.
