Chapter 15
Megan knocked on the door to Jeff’s hotel room.
“Hold up,” he called from inside. A few seconds later the door slid open revealing Jeff wearing only his boxers, his colorful hair sticking to his head, it was obvious he had just emerged from the shower.
“Hey Meg,” he said with a smile, “Come on in.”
“Is this a bad time?” she asked as she walked into the room.
“Nah,” Jeff said, “Just got outta the shower. What’s up?”
“I need to ask your advice,” she said, Jeff motioned for her to sit on the bed, so she did.
“Shoot,” he said as he pulled on a pair of black jeans.
“Actually, well,” she said hesitantly, “Do you think I should tell Jay about Adam and me?”
“About when you were younger?” Jeff asked.
“Actually…” Megan said, biting her lower lip.
“Did you guys hook up?” Jeff asked surprised and confused.
“Yeah,” she admitted, looking at Jeff, “Last night.”
“So you guys had sex?” Jeff questioned.
Megan nodded, “It just kinda happened. I mean we were just hanging out in my room and we started goofing around and he kissed me.”
“And you kissed him back,” Jeff said, pressing for more information.
“Not exactly,” Megan said, “He apologized.”
“And?” Jeff asked, sitting on the bed next to her.
“Then I kissed him,” she concluded.
“Then you guys had sex?” he asked.
“Basically,” she answered.
“Wow,” he said, “so are you two, like, a couple now?”
“I dunno,” Megan admitted, “I am just so confused.”
“About telling Jay,” Jeff asked, “Or about Adam?”
“Both,” she said, “I mean, I really like Adam. He and I have such a history, such a past! But I love Jay. I mean he’s my cousin. I can’t tell him I’ve been dating his best friend and not telling him. He’ll be crushed, his best friend having sex with his cousin? He’ll kill Adam!”
“I think you’re being a little dramatic,” Jeff interrupted.
“No,” she said shaking his head, “When I was in 9th grade, this guy I was dating was pressuring me to have sex with him. I told Jay, and the guy couldn’t use his right arm for 2 months.”
“Owww,” Jeff said, “But that was only once.”
“Then there was this time that Jay’s friend, Terry, was hitting on me,” Megan explained, “Jay slammed his head against a wall. And that was easy on him.”
“Now I see what you’re talking about,” Jeff nodded.
“I don’t want to keep lying to Jay, but I don’t want to stop seeing Adam,” Megan said, “But I don’t want to ruin their friendship either.”
“This is tough Meg,” Jeff said, “Have you and Adam talked yet?”
“No, Jay showed up…” Megan’s voice trailed off as she heard a knock on the door.
“Hold that thought,” Jeff said as the stood up and walked over to the door.
“Hey Jay,” he said as he opened the door.
“Hey Jeff,” Jason said walking into the room, “what’s up?”
He stopped in his tracks at seeing Megan sitting on the bed. He opened his mouth to talk and looked over at Jeff.
“Hey Jay,” Megan said from her spot on the bed.
“I thought you were gonna go back to bed?” Jay asked.
“Nope,” she said, “couldn’t sleep.”
“Ok,” Jason said looking at her skeptically.
“So what’s up?” Jeff asked.
“I was gonna ask the same question,” Jason said, folding his arms in front of him.
“Huh?” Jeff asked confused, “Oh you mean why is Meg in here with me? We were talking about something.”
“About?” Jason asked.
“My God Jay,” Megan said standing up, “Mind your damn business for once!”
Jason stepped back, hurt and confused, “Meg, lets not get into this again.”
“I’m not trying to,” Megan said, “I’m just saying stop being so nosey!”
Jeff interrupted before the 2 could start a full on fight. “So Jay, did you come to talk about the houseshow tonight?”
Jason nodded, moving his eyes from Megan to Jeff. “Yeah, where’s Matt?”
“He went to get some food, he’ll be back in a minute,” Jeff told him, “Adam’s coming right?”
“Yeah, he was gonna come when he got outta the shower. I guess he had a pretty wild night last night,” Jason laughed. Megan and Jeff exchanged nervous looks.
“I’m gonna get going,” Megan said, “see ya guys later.”
“Later,” Jeff called.
“Bye Meg,” Adam called as Megan walked out the door and back towards her room. Then smirked, Adam was in his hotel room, Jay was in Jeff’s room. She quickly walked past her door and down a few more to Adam’s.
