Chapter 9

“I hate rainy days,” Amy Dumas (Lita) said walking into Adam and Jason’s hotel room carrying a few sodas and handing them around.

“I know,” Jeff said leaning back on Adam’s bed and taking a sip of his, “We can’t do anything today. Oh well, at least we have the Raw taping tonight.”

Megan looked around her cousin’s hotel room where Jeff, Amy, Matt, Adam, and herself were just hanging out watching TV.

“This is boring,” Jeff complained a few minutes later, “Let’s do something.”

“Like what? Go swimming in the middle of a thunderstorm? Sounds like a plan bro,” Matt joked, winking and giving him a thumbs up.

“Let’s play a game,” Jeff suggested with a shrug.

“A game?” Adam asked, “Like what?”

“I dunno,” Jeff said, “Truth or dare?”

Everyone laughed, “Come on Jeff,” Amy said throwing a pillow at him, “I haven’t played that since junior high, it’s so immature.”

“You have a better idea?” Jeff asked.

“Why don’t we watch a movie?” Megan suggested.

“No,” Amy, Jason, Adam, and Matt all cried out together.

“Jeff will make us watch Titanic,” Amy explained, “And if I have to see that boat sink one more freaking time…”

“It’s a good movie!” Jeff interrupted.

“The first 57 times,” Jason said.

“Then lets play truth or dare,” Jeff suggested again.

“Fine,” Amy and Matt sighed.

“Whatever,” Jason moaned.

“Sure,” Adam mumbled.

“Don’t all look so thrilled,” Jeff scolded with a smile, “Since Meg is the only one who looks like she won’t pass out from boredom, I’m gonna pick her first.”

“Truth,” she said quickly.

“Chicken…” Amy laughed.

“Truth? Truth?” Jeff said thinking, “Ooh, this is good since your cousin is here to hear it.”

“Oh no,” Meg laughed.

“Who and when was your first?” Jeff asked laughing.

“I’ll take a dare,” Megan said.

“Nope,” Jeff said shaking his head, “Answer the question.”

“Fine, it was…” Megan looked over at Adam, she couldn’t tell them it was him when Jason was right there.

“In high school,” Megan said quickly, looking over at Adam she saw a nervous look on his face.

“Who?” Jason asked.

“Umm, just a guy,” Megan said casually, “before I left for France.”

“What was his name?” Jason asked. Jeff looked over at Megan, and then at Adam… their faces gave away everything. He almost laughed, then realized how awful the situation could get if Jason found out…

“Ok Meg,” Jeff interrupted, “Your turn to pick someone.”

Megan looked over at him with thankful eyes. He smiled back at her, he knew he was the only one who noticed how uneasy Adam and Megan had been.

“Ok, um… Matt,” Megan picked, “Truth or dare?”

“Dare,” Matt said smiling.

“Ok, um…” Megan said, then started laughing, “Re-do the belt pick for us.” (Note to readers: The belt pick was a picture Matt did holding the tag team belt in his teeth and let it go down, covering his… well you get the point! Great pic though!)

“We don’t have the belts,” Matt said with a shrug laughing, “sorry.”

“Then I guess you have to do it without the belt,” Amy laughed, making everyone else in the room crack up.

“I have to go back to my room for a second,” Megan said 20 minutes later, “I’ll be back in a minute.”

“I’ll come with you,” Jeff offered standing up.

“Sure,” Megan shrugged.

“So what’s up?” Megan asked as they started walking down the hallway towards Megan’s room.

“That’s what I was wondering,” Jeff said.

“What do you mean?” Megan asked as she stuck the card/key in the door and opened the door to her room.

“I mean what happened with you and Adam,” Jeff said following her into her room.

“Jeff, you won’t say anything will you?” Megan said, turning around and staring at him, “Please, Jeff, don’t say anything.”

“I won’t Meg,” Jeff said reassuringly, “I just don’t understand how he doesn’t know that you and Adam had a relationship. You guys did have a relationship, didn’t you?”

Megan nodded, “About 2 years, on and off.”

“Wow,” Jeff said, “And Jay never knew?”

“Nope, and I wanna keep it that way,” Megan said.

“Ok, that’s cool,” Jeff said, “I won’t say anything, don’t worry. I just don’t understand how he never found out.”

“We were really careful,” Megan said.

“There’s nothing going on between you 2 now is there?” Jeff asked.

Megan shrugged, “I think there may be something. But it may just be me wishing there were something. Why?”

“Well, because I’ve just seen the way Adam looks at you and thought that maybe there was something between you two,” Jeff explained.

“Really?” Megan asked, “How does he look at me?”

“Like he could just watch you forever. He looks at you like you’re the woman of his dreams, I’ve never seen him look at anyone the way I see him look at you,” Jeff told her.

“Wow,” Megan said, “I never noticed that.”

“I’m not surprised,” Jeff said with a smile.

“Why not,” Megan asked.

“Because you look at him the same exact way.”
