Chapter 3

“Jason, will you show me how you do a Swanton Bomb?” an enthusiastic Derek asked.

“Can’t help you there buddy,” Jason laughed patting the short red hair of the 12 year, “I can’t even do one, I’d have to get Jeff to teach you that. Besides, I’m really sore, I just need to sit.”

“Can I get you something?” An eager Lillian asked, her brown eyes wide, “A drink, some ice, Tylenol?”

“No that’s ok, thanks,” Jason said as he sat down. He looked at Lillian; she was a miniature version of Gwen. Her big brown eyes, the long brown hair…

“Do you love my sister?” Derek asked snapping Jason out of his thoughts.

“Do I love Gwen?” Jason asked, “Yeah, I do… a lot. She’s the most important person in my life… I’d do anything for her, she’s the world to me.”

Lillian let out a sigh, “that’s so beautiful,” she said, “are you guys going to get married?”

“I was thinking about asking her,” Jason said with a smirk, nodding his head, “You think she’d say yes?”

“YES!” the two kids yelled in unison.

“Are you kidding,” Derek asked, “she’s crazy about you!”

“I heard her and my mom talking about the type of wedding you two would have and her dress and if you two had kids what they’d look like,” Lillian added.

“Thanks you guys,” Jason said as he stood up, “I’m going to go find your sister,” he said with a wink.

Gwen was sitting on the ground petting Jessie as she talked to her dad who was working on his car. “Dinner,” she heard her mom call.

“Go ahead Gweny,” her dad said, “I’ll clean myself up and be right in.”

“Ok daddy,” she said as she stood up, Jessie right behind her. All of a sudden she felt herself get dizzy and her legs get weak and give way under her. She fell to the ground, the whole world around her spinning. She held onto her head, trying to get the world to stop whirling around her so fast.

“Gweny, you ok?” her dad asked as he came over and helped her up.

“Fine,” she said wiping some dirt off her as she shook off the last of her dizziness, “I must have stood up too fast or something.”

“Go on inside and get a drink,” her father said as he helped her into the house, “You’ll feel better.” She nodded, that had been really weird, it had never happened to her before. She shrugged it off as she walked into the kitchen, but she still had a weird feeling in her stomach about it.
