Chapter 6
At around 11 Gwen emerged from the bedroom. Jason smiled from his spot on the couch where he was reading a magazine.
“How you feeling?” he asked as he walked over to her.
“I feel like I just pounded my head against a wall 20 times, got ran over by a dump truck and then swallowed a brick,” she moaned as she held her head and sat down in the armchair next to her. Jason walked into the kitchen and returned moments later with a few Tylenols and glass of water.
“Thanks,” she said as she took them graciously from him, “I feel like I have a huge hangover or something. It feels like the time I went to my first keg party and didn’t know that Jell-O shots had alcohol in them, I just thought it was Jell-O, I was like ‘hey this is good Jell-O, give me more’ before I knew it I was wasted out of my mind and my friends had to drag me back to my dorm, and the whole time I was saying I wanted more Jell-O,” Gwen lied her head back. Jason laughed as he kneeled besides the chair, no matter how Gwen felt, she always tried to have a joke.
She opened her eyes a minute later, “Don’t you have that interview today?” she asked as she looked at him.
“Yeah,” he nodded, “But I’m going to cancel it, I want to stay home with you, you aren’t feeling well.”
“No,” she said waving her hand, “Go, you have to go, I’m just going to take a shower and go back to sleep.”
“I don’t know,” he said unsurely.
“Jason, go,” she said sternly, “I mean it, you have to go, it’s important.”
“Ok,” he said reluctantly, “I’ll go, you’ll be fine?”
She held he thumbs up, “A-OK!” She lied back in her chair, she felt so tired and her whole body felt sore. Jason retreated to the bathroom to get ready and came out 20 minutes later, fully dressed and looking great.
“Can you do me a favor?” he asked as he stopped next to Gwen.
“Depends,” she said.
“Call the doctor and get an appointment?” he suggested.
“Jay, no,” she said with a frown.
“Please Gwen,” he pleaded, “Between last night and you getting dizzy at your parents house I just want you to get checked out.”
“But there’s nothing wrong!” She argued, “I got a stomach bug!”
“Let the doctors decide that,” he said feeling like he was arguing with a 5 year old, “Make an appointment, please?” he begged.
“Fine,” she said halfhearted, “I’ll make an appointment.”
“Great,” he said happily as he kissed her forehead, “I should be back by 5, do you need anything?”
“Can you stop at a store on your way home and buy Jell-O?” she asked, “No alcohol, just Jell-O.”
Jason laughed, “You got it,” he said, “See you in a few hours gorgeous.” He walked out the door and shut the door behind him.

Jason walked in the door to see Gwen sitting at the table drinking a cup of tear.
“You look better,” he said giving her a quick kiss, “You call the doctor?”
“Yeah,” she answered, “And they want me to stay over the hospital Saturday to Monday for observation.”
“Over night in the hospital?” Jason asked worriedly, “Do they think it’s serious?”
“No,” she said, “They just want to make sure everything’s ok, he said he doesn’t think it’ll be anything serious.”
“Wait,” Jason said, “Saturday to Monday? I’m away with the WWF! Are those the only days they can take you?”
“Yeah,” she said. The doctor had actually said he’d prefer to take he during the week, but Gwen didn’t want Jason with her because she knew how nervous and protective he’d get.
“Well, I’ll have to talk to Vince and not go with the WWF that week,” he said, “I can’t leave you all alone in the hospital, I need to be with you.” “No Jay,” she told him, “It’s ok, my mom will probably end up staying with me overnight and I’ll be home by Monday night, you can call me as soon as you get on the bus after Raw. I’ll be fine.”
“But,” Jason said starting to argue.
“I’m sure it’s nothing,” she said calmingly, “Besides, you’re always with me,” she said as she looked at her ring. She stood up and walked over to him and slowly sat into his lap, “You have nothing to worry about, I’m a brave girl.”
“Ok,” he finally said giving in and kissing Gwen, “I’m sure you’re right.” He said optimistically. Neither of them realizing how serious it really was.
