Chapter 18

Jeff held a convulsing Leila as she sobbed into his chest on the couch. Never in his wildest thoughts could he have imagined something so awful had happened. He ran his hand through her hair as he continued to stroke her back and forth.

“It’s ok Leila, it’s over,” Jeff soothed, holding her tightly.

“It was his best friend,” Leila sobbed, “Keith trusted him… I trusted him…”

“It’s not your fault it happened,” Jeff whispered.

“No many how many times I showered, I always felt so dirty after that,” Leila cried, “I’d see him when I went to visit Keith’s parents, and he’d act like nothing happened.”

“You never reported him?” Jeff questioned.

“I was so scared,” Leila whispered as her voice broke, “and so young…”

“I’m so sorry Leila,” Jeff said softly, “You didn’t deserve that. No one deserves that…”

“That’s why I don’t let myself get close,” Leila cried, “now you know.”

He did understand now. It was finally clear to him why she couldn’t get close again. He held her close and felt her heart beating against his chest. He could feel her fear, her sorrow, and yet, her desire. It was as if his soul had become one with hers.

“Jeff,” she whispered, looking up at Jeff with tears in her eyes.

He looked down and was met with her lips pressed against his. He pushed back, surprised and shocked.

“What are you doing?” Jeff questioned.

“I need you Jeff,” Leila whispered, pressing her tear stained and moist cheek against Jeff’s.

“Leila, not like this, this isn’t you talking, it’s your emotions,” Jeff said, trying to remember why those words sounded so familiar, and remembered it was from when she was drunk and coming onto him.

“No Jeff, it is me,” Leila breathed, “I’m just realizing how much you actually care about me. And how much I care about you. I need you Jeff, please. I love you. I need you.”

Those words caught Jeff totally off guard, never had he expected to hear those words out of her mouth, and although he had never said it, he felt the same way.

“I don’t want you to do anything you regret,” Jeff said softly, kissing her neck softly.

“I need you,” Leila repeated, meeting his lips in a passionate kiss before wrapping her legs around him as he stood up and carried her towards the bedroom, not breaking the kiss.

“Are you sure?” Jeff asked, laying her softly on the bed and looking down at her, pushing a strand of her hair behind her ear lovingly. She looked up at him with tearful eyes and nodded.

“I’ve never been more sure,” Leila whispered as she kissed his neck and slowly helped him pull off his shirt.

Jeff grinned as he pulled Leila’s sleeveless shirt off, before kissing all around her chest and neck as he heard Leila sigh and felt her chest rise. He fumbled with the buttons on her khakis as she wrapped her legs around his waist.

“Leila,” Jeff whispered, before going any further.

“Yeah?” she asked, trying to unbuckle his pants with her shaky hands as she felt her heart pounding.

“I love you,” he whispered as he pressed his lips against hers as they finished discarding the rest of their clothes, and gave into the passions.

Jeff rolled over and opened his eyes groggily and sleepily as he heard the sound of scuffling around the room. He moved his arm sleepily to tighten around Leila, and to his surprise, she was gone, a pillow in her place.

Jeff heard the suite door open and close, and by the time he was fully awake, she was gone.
