“That was a great show,” Matt said opening their hotel door as Jeff followed him into their room.

“Not too bad,” Jeff agreed as he walked over to his suitcase and looked through it for his outfit for that night.

“Are you sure you want to do this?” Matt asked, sitting on his bed and looking over at his younger brother.

“Do what?” Jeff questioned, still looking through his suitcase for the khakis he knew he had.

“You know Jeff,” Matt said exasperated.

“I really want to find out what’s behind this girl,” Jeff explained, “I can’t describe how I feel man, she just… she intrigues me.”

Matt nodded slowly, “I guess that makes sense.”

“How does this shirt look?” Jeff asked buttoning up a black dress shirt.

“Not Jeff Hardy like at all,” his brother answered as he looked him up and down, “but it looks good.”

Jeff nodded and took a deep breath. He smoothed his multicolored hair into a neat ponytail, but it just didn’t seem to go with the outfit.

“You don’t think I have time to wash out this dye, do you?” Jeff asked, turning to his brother with an inquisitive look.

“Are you shitting me?” Matt asked standing up, “you look great man. And if she doesn’t like your hair, then she doesn’t like all of Jeff Hardy. Now go!”

Jeff agreed with his brother as he nodded his head, “alright I’ll see you later.”

Matt watched as his brother quickly walked out of the room.

“Good luck!” Matt called as the door shut behind Jeff; he was going to need it.

Jeff stood in the lobby looking around the large hotel. He quickly looked at his watch that read 10:05; he sighed as he continued to let his gaze wander.

His eyes landed on the elevator as it opened and the single occupant stepped out. Her long dark hair was halfway back as the rest hung down her back and she wore a thin strapped, tight red dress. Her long, tan legs revealed due to the shortness of the dress as tiny black heels clung to her feet.

“Hey Jeff,” she smiled as she walked towards him, enjoying the look of awe on his face.

“Wow, you look amazing,” Jeff replied, not able to take his eyes off her.

Leila smiled, liking the look on Jeff’s face and the attention she was receiving from not only him but other people around her. She looked Jeff up and down and couldn’t help but think how attractive Jeff looked. As much as she tried to deny her attraction to him, she knew she wouldn’t be able to deny it much longer.

“You ready to go?” Jeff asked, letting his eyes linger on her legs a little longer before bringing them to her eyes.

“Sure,” Leila said as Jeff took her hand and led her out of the hotel.

“This is really nice of you Jeff,” Leila said as they sat in the small Italian restaurant, “I really don’t know why you’re doing this for me though.”

“Like I said before,” Jeff winked, “I like you kid.”

Leila rolled her eyes, but for once her smile was genuine.

“So,” Jeff said awkwardly, “is there anyone at home for you?”

“No,” Leila replied, “just a goldfish that’s probably dead in my apartment.”

Jeff laughed, “so how about your past relationships?”

Leila’s smile faded as she looked at Jeff seriously, “I’d rather not talk about them.”

“Ok, sorry,” Jeff apologized, “but I can tell you one thing. Wrestling can make a relationship really hard.”

“How so?” Leila asked.

“Just with the traveling and long hours,” Jeff answered, “and when you are home you want to rest.”

“That makes sense,” Leila agreed.

“And you’ve really got to make sure they’re someone you trust,” Jeff added, “someone who won’t take advantage of you.”

“I hear that,” Leila whispered, looking down at the linen table cloth.

“What was that?” Jeff asked quietly as he watched Leila look up and straight into his eyes.

In her eyes he saw a little girl who had been hurt in the past, there was no anger or annoyance like he was used to seeing, but just a look of sadness and vulnerability. A small smile appeared on Leila’s face as she as she looked into Jeff’s concerned and curious eyes.

“I just said that sometimes you can’t trust who you want,” Leila said softly.

“Do you have experience with that?” Jeff asked, feeling as if he was finally getting a look at her past and she was finally opening herself up.

“Everyone does at some point,” Leila shrugged, “some more then others.”

“Were you one of the more then others?” Jeff questioned feeling the Leila open up more and more.

“Maybe,” she shrugged, before quickly changing the subject, “so how long have you been wrestling?”

“Since I was a teenager,” Jeff replied confused at how Leila could change the subject so quickly. There was obviously something she wasn’t telling him, every time she started to open up she immediately closed off again.

Jeff looked at her as she took a sip of her water, what exactly was she hiding?
