Chapter 5

Jill watched the event from where she stood, cutting and splitting wires. "This is baby stuff, I can’t believe the technicians couldn’t fix this."

"Hardyz music next!"

Jill’s heart skipped a beat and she turned around looking on the computer for The Hardy Boyz. Finding it she double clicked and waited. Thankfully, it came on along with their video.

She looked out through the hole and watched The Hardyz and Lita go to the ring. Matt and ‘Lita’ complimented each other quite well… and poor Jeff had no one.

"Hit Billy and Chucks!"

She turned around, finding them and double clicking. The machine paused and started to smoke. "Shit!" Jill took the wire out and blew on it, listening for their music. It came on, kind of fuzzy, but it came on. Jill watched the match and wasn’t really paying attention until she tripped over one of the cords and went crashing into the screen. It rattled lightly and she held perfectly still, breathing out as everything continued to work. In about 3 seconds, Jill thought she heard something slip and looked up to see a whitish liquid cascading down the back of the screen and falling through the air.

It didn’t even register in her mind until she felt the white stuff hit her. It smelled acrid, and she knew immediately it was paint.

"AHH! God damn it!! SHIT, SHIT, SHIT!" Jill sobbed, wiping paint from her completely covered body. Jill looked back out to see everyone looking toward the screen, mouths open.

"Oh God…" Jill turned to the computer and saw the paint had spilled down both sides, almost covering the Titantron.

"JILL!" Vince stormed around the corner and stopped dead when he saw her. "What happened?"

Jill opened and closed her mouth, not knowing what to say. "I had to really push a wire in and I tripped and fell into the screen, then the paint fell on me."

Vince looked at her like she was a complete idiot. This only spurred her embarrassment and gave her a bit of anger.

"Look, it wasn’t my fault okay, and this stuff you have me doing? Your technicians can’t fix it? You learn this stuff first year you train!"

Vince shook his head. "I’ll just tell them my technicians are idiots." He walked away shaking his head and leaving Jill standing there dumbfounded.

"And your winners and NEW tag-team champions, THE HARDY BOYZ!" Jill jumped, turning to look out the hole before hitting the Hardyz music.

No more than 5 minutes later Matt, Jeff and Amy came into the tech room, hugging each other and smiling… that is until they saw Jill. She was covered from head to toe with white paint, and looked about ready to shove the wire she was holding up someone’s ass.

"That was your fault?" Amy asked, giggling a little as she saw her friend.

Jill glared at her. "It was SO not my fault!"

Just then another technician came in, laughing when he saw her. "What’s wrong Jill? Is the job too tough for a girl?" He laughed, grabbing the wire she held and put it back in place.

Jill glared at the middle aged man before kicking him in the ass, sending his flying to the ground.

"What the hell is your problem!?"

Jill scowled throwing the rest of the wires at him. "My problem? Oh no, it’s YOUR problem now." She stormed past Matt, Jeff and Amy who stood in shocked amazement, and headed to the locker rooms.

"This is sooo bullshit. I can’t believe this is the work I have to do!" She yelled as Matt walked in, eyeing her up before walking over to her.

"Shower-" Matt pointed at a stall. "Shower and you can wear some of Amy’s clothes. Good thing those were only work clothes, right?"

Jill took a deep breath raising her head and turning cockily to face Matt. "Oh yes, isn’t it a good thing… IF I CAN EVER GET IT OUT OF MY HAIR!!" Jill turned back to the mirror, looking at the nearly dried paint in her hair.

Matt patted her shoulder. "It’ll come out… I hope…"

"Thanks Matt, your words are so comforting." She said sarcastically, slipping her shirt off and staring at her black bra which also had white on it.

"I’ll leave you alone for a minute." Matt squeaked, watching her bend over and turn the tap on.

Jill growled as the tap stuck in place. "Stupid tap."

Matt waltzed over, reaching down and turning it. "Turn it the other way."

"I knew that!" Jill said quite seriously and pulled her pants down, looking back at Matt who still stood there. "Yes?"

Matt shook his head. "Sorry, Amy will bring you some clothes."

Jill nodded, turning so her back was facing him and undoing her bra. Matt walked out of the room closing the door behind him and looking at Jeff who stood by the door.

"I don’t know what crawled up her pants and died, but it sure must have been big."

Jeff laughed a bit, walking with his big brother toward the Hardyz locker room.

"I think she’ll be okay… I wonder what she would say if she knew the bucket of tar that was up there fell down right when she left the room?"
