Chapter Two

About a Week Later... The WWF was doing 3 shows in Orlando, Florida and it was Raw night.

Matt was sitting in his hotel room alone, bored watching TV. Everyone had gone to theme parks and were doing the tourist thing that afternoon, but Matt had decided not to go, he was tired.

Matt sighed as he glanced over toward his dresser, where the picture of Leah rested against the lamp on top of the dresser. He sighed thinking of her again for the first time in a week. Matt pulled himself to his feet and crossed his hotel room and falling onto his bed as he looked toward the picture of them together, her smile was so amazing, it was no wonder she had become a big star.

Matt smiled as he reached for the picture and rolled onto his back holding it above him. He missed her, and he hadn’t realized it until just then how much. Matt let his mind wonder, picturing what it would be like to see her.... to hold her, hug her.... to have her back in his life... to know his best friend again. Matt’s heart ached thinking of all the mistakes he made about his relationship with her, about never telling her how he felt about her. His head hurt from the thinking he was doing and he sighed, as he let his hand and the picture fall to his chest, Matt closed his eye’s trying to sleep.

Later that evening at the arena.... Matt was sitting in the lounge watching Jeff and Shane Hurricane Helms playing a WWF video game. Matt laughed at Jeff who was getting his ass kicked by Shane in the game. Matt got up and made his way across the room to get some coffee. Raw was going to start in about an hour and Matt needed the coffee to keep him alert, he hadn’t sleep very good earlier. Leah had been on his mind, making it difficult to rest.

Matt sipped his coffee and turned around leaning against the table as he scanned the room. His usual friends were spread about the room laughing, and hanging out. Amy, a.k.a: Lita, Jeff’s girlfriend was sitting with the other divas and they were deep in conversation about something. While Jason Reso, and Adam Copeland, played pool with some other wrestlers on the other side of the room.

Matt sighed watching as Amy got up and walked over to Jeff who was still glued to the game and leaned over his shoulder whispering something to him, after a second or two Jeff laughed elbowing her and then looking up to her face and smiling as he kissed her quickly. Matt watched as she left his side and walked over to the radio grabbing a CD and opening it. Matt watched as she smiled over at the girls and the music started. Matt set his coffee down and listened as he watched Amy go back and sit down.

It only took Matt a few seconds to recognize the song. It was Leah. Matt stood unable to move as he thought of her, the song was beautiful and her voice was amazing, it was the most wonderful sound he had heard in a long time. He wanted to see her very much.

After his match that night, Matt took a shower and got changed and rode back to the hotel with Jeff. Amy was still at the arena preparing for a match so Jeff came to hangout with Matt in his room. Jeff had started staying with Amy when they began going out.

They had just gotten inside the hotel room when the phone rang. "I’ll get it." Jeff said as he crossed the room and grabbed the phone on the dresser next to Matt’s unmade bed. Matt sat down on the couch and rubbed his head as he yawned falling onto the couch and stretching out. He was so tired.

Matt could feel his eye lids getting heavy and he rubbed his eye’s to keep himself awake. "Who is it?" Matt asked mumbling as Jeff came and leaned against the back of the couch looking down at Matt.

"It’s Amy," Jeff said as Matt shook his head.

"How’d her match go?" Matt asked softly.

Matt waited as Jeff asked her and then looked back down at him, "It was good, she won." Jeff said softly. Matt grinned and sighed.

After a few minutes Jeff spoke again, "Hey Matt, uh I guess everyone wants to go out tonight, Amy wants to know if you wanna go, I’m gonna." Jeff said softly as Matt sighed, he didn’t really feel like doing anything.

"I dunno, I’m kinda tired..." Matt said softly.

Jeff told Amy and them Jeff spoke again, "Amy says that she’s gonna make you go... she says you have about a half an hour to decide, she’s gonna stop up when she gets back to the hotel, then she’ll go get ready, so you gotta know by then okay?" Jeff asked looking down at Matt.

"Yeah okay." Matt said softly yawning. Jeff told Amy that Matt was going to think about it and they began talking again and Matt stopped listening.

About 2 hours later.... Matt was sitting at a table with everyone at this local clubb. Amy hadn’t lied, she had made Matt come. Matt looked around watching people dancing and drinking- it was the usual clubb scene.

"So what do you think of the clubb?" Amy asked looking at Matt. Matt stared at her, she was sitting on Jeff’s lap across the table and she sipped her drink watching him.

Matt shrugged, "It’s cool." Matt said softly stretching.

"I wanna dance!" Molly said suddenly, pulling Shane to his feet. Everyone else decided to go out to the dance floor for a while. Matt was left at the table with Jeff and Amy.

"What’s wrong with you?" Jeff asked as soon as everyone was out of ear shot.

"Nothing." Matt said staring at Jeff confused. "Why?" Matt asked gulping down the last of his own drink.

Jeff shrugged. "Just seems like something’s bothering you... Hey Amy would you mind getting me another drink?" Jeff asked kissing her cheek.

"The things I do for you Jeff!" Amy said standing as she took his glass and kissed his cheek, she was aware that Jeff wanted a few moments to talk to Matt alone. Then Amy looked at Matt, "Do you want anything else?" Amy asked smiling at him.

Matt sat for a moment and shook his head, "Sure... thanks." Matt said softly as he watched with Jeff as she walked away.

When Amy was out of sight, Jeff turned back looking at Matt. "Matt I’m your brother... I know you almost as well as you know yourself... what’s up?" Jeff asked staring seriously at him.

Matt sighed, "Honestly Jeff when I figure it out I’ll let you know." Matt said softly as Jeff stared at him confused.

"You mean you don’t know?" Jeff asked staring skeptically at him.

Matt shrugged, "Something’s bothering me, but I just can’t put a finger on it that’s all, when I figure out what it is I’ll tell you, but for now I just really don’t know and it’s really pissing me off." Matt said softly rubbing his head and pulling his hair into a ponytail.

Jeff shrugged, "Okay you sure?" Jeff asked watching Matt.

Matt shook his head as he looked around the dark clubb and saw his friends dancing together smiling and laughing happily.

Meanwhile... On the opposite side of the world, miles away, in Paris, France, a young woman is sitting in a hot recording studio with her guitar and a micro-phone working on her up coming album with her band and back up singers.

"I need a break." The tall blond says over the micro-phone suddenly in the middle of a song, she looks stressed and quite disgusted.

"All right," A technical guy says over the loud speaker in the other room, "Everyone take a break, be back here in an hour." The man says as the band gets up and leaves.

Leah whose long blond hair is pulled into a messy bun sits back on the stool in which she has been sitting on for hours and sighs as she reaches over for her bottle of Evian. She takes a long gulp and rubs her forehead. Then Leah pulls her guitar strap from over her shoulder and sets the guitar on the floor back into its case.

"Hey." A voice says from the doorway.

Leah looks up and smiles seeing her producer and manager, Rick DeLuka leaning in the doorway. "Hey," Leah says pausing, "I’m so frustrated! I just can’t seem to get that one part down, and it’s driving me nuts!" Leah says sighing as Rick pulls a stool over near Leah’s and sits down grinning at her.

"It’s no big deal, we’ll keep workin on it, it’s a fairly difficult part any ways." Rick said smiling at her.

Leah’s sighs as she stretches out her arm, which is sore from playing the guitar. "Thanks Rick. I’ve been practicing it a lot and it’s just not clicking with me, I dunno. So any ways what’s up?" Leah asked looking back up at him.

Rick smiles, "It’s okay, don’t worry about it for now. Actually I’ve got some really exciting news!" Rick said staring at her as interest grew across her face.

"Really, what?" Leah asked smiling at him with curious interest.

"I got a call this morning from the owner of a huge, no I mean massive company Leah. You’ve heard of the WWF haven’t you?" Rick asked staring at her.

Heard of it, Leah new it quite well! That’s where two of her best friends were, they had accomplished there dreams that they had always wanted to. The Hardy Boyz had made it, they were super stars! Matt and Jeff her long time best friends, friends she hadn’t seen forever, and actually had been thinking a lot about in the last several weeks.

"Yeah, I know two wrestlers very well actually, brothers, growing up they lived down the street from me and they always wanted to become famous wrestlers. I haven’t seen them in almost 5 years, the Hardy Boyz, Matt and Jeff. Why’d the WWF call you?" Leah asked very interested now, perhaps she’d be able to see and spend some time with her old friends.

Rick smiled, "Well we leave Paris tomorrow afternoon, and then were going back to the states, you have a month before the album is due out, so it’s going to work out great." Rick said staring at Leah who looked a bit lost.

"What’s will?" Leah asked staring at Rick.

Rick chuckled, "I skipped that part didn’t I?" Rick paused as he laughed and then sighed, "This is exciting Leah, Vince McMahon, the owner of the WWF himself, personally called me and asked if you would come and sing at a few shows....live, and then record a song for one of the female wrestlers, Torrie Wilson. For entrance music, that will be played every time she goes down to the ring, and will be included into the WWF’s yearly theme song music CD. Leah this could be big, very big! Your fans, new wrestling fans, this could sky rocket you "through the roof," more then you are already. I told him I would give him a call in the morning. So what do you think?" Rick asked smiling at Leah who looked both shocked and thrilled.

Leah didn’t really care about that music theme part, she was thrilled that she was might have the opportunity to see her "boys" again. This would definitely be the opportunity of a lifetime! "I think its great, that’s awesome, I can’t wait, that’s really exciting, I’m thrilled, Rick it’s great!!! It’s totally fine with me, the sooner we go the better, I really can’t wait!" Leah said giggling, excited as she thought of seeing Matt and Jeff.

Rick smiled seeing the thrilled and happy smile on her face, it was the same look she had when she was performing on stage and he was glad she was happy with the idea.

Matt had been like Leah’s best friend through most of high school. Leah had had a gigantic crush on him, but she was to shy to admit it to him at the time, so she never told him how she really felt about him.

However, Leah loved Matt like a best friend. Matt was hott, and sweet and funny, and could always make her laugh and now he was successful and happy doing something he loved , she was so happy for him, and for Jeff! Leah just couldn’t wait to see them both again finally. She had lost touch with them both when they left Cameron, NC to persue their dreams of becoming famous wrestlers. This was going to be really great!
