Chapter 1

“Hey Matt!” Jeff yelled from the bathroom in the hotel room in Las Vegas where they were staying with the wrestling. Jeff groaned impatiently when he got no response from Matt, Jeff left the bathroom. Then grabbed a pillow from the couch and threw it to the bed where Matt was sleeping. The pillow hit Matt on the head, waking him up.

Sleepily Matt sat up and rubbed his dark eyes. He felt like crap. He was tired and sad. “

“What?” He asked running his fingers through his long hair. He stared at Jeff. Who was over in front of the closet buttoning a shirt.

Jeff turned and looked at his sickly looking friend.

“Matt, man you gotta get up and do something. You look like shit. You can’t let this Lita thing effect you like this for so long. Come on get up!” Jeff turned and grabbed a shirt out of the closet and threw it over to the bed at Matt.

Matt groaned softly. “Jeff dude I don’t wanna do anything.”

Jeff sighed. “Matt! This is stupid, I mean get over her already, she hurt you bad man. She don’t deserve you.” Then Matt interrupted him.

“Jeff we hurt each other, don’t blame the whole thing on Lita. It’s not all her.” Matt said standing slowly.

Jeff staring straight at him now started speaking, “Wait, don’t blame Lita? She played you man! She was totally with other guys the whole time she was with you. She was telling you things, you were pouring your heart out to her, and she was getting it other places! Man Matt you know it! You don’t deserve to have your heart ripped out of your chest and then have some little bitch step on it like it doesn’t mean anything! You don’t need that! Man, get over her!” Jeff said looking disgusted.

Matt sat down again feeling even worse, remembering the night he came back to the hotel. Lita hadn’t had work that night... He found her in bed with some guy. He freaked out. After he beat the shit out of the guy, he and Lita had a huge argument and after about of week of trying to fix things, Matt had had all he could bear. He broke up with her, sad, and feeling miserable.

“I know....” Matt said softly resting his head in his hands.

Jeff started speaking again, “Now Matt you try explaining to me what you did to hurt her, how can you blame yourself, its all her!? You did nothing.”

Jeff came over and sat down next to his best friend. They had been through so much together, and he knew what Matt had to be feeling like.

“I dunno, I feel like she had a reason to do what she did,” Matt spoke in almost a whisper, obviously really upset, yet once again.

“No Matt, she had no reason to hurt you the way she has. You deserve better man.”

Matt didn’t speak. He barely moved. Then after several minutes he spoke standing slowly.

Why’d you wake me up?” He asked as he moved across the room to the window. He looked out sadly.

“I woke you to see if you felt like going to a couple of clubs with me and Jason and Adam, you know check out some fine ladies, dance, drink, whatever. You feel up to it?” Jeff asked.

Matt looked down to the floor. Maybe he should go out and get his mind off of Lita. It might do him some good. Maybe he needed to hangout with the guys.

He turned and looked at Jeff. “Yeah, I will go,” Matt replied walking back over to his bed and grabbed the shirt Jeff had thrown at him.

“You sure?” Jeff asked getting his shoes out of the closet.

“Yes Jeff.... I wanna go. But I don’t wanna hear any grief from anyone, I don’t wanna hear anybody say her name,” Matt said turning to him.

“I swear her name and her whole presence will be forgotten, besides you have to get over her anyways. Good, aww man are we gonna have a great time!” Jeff came over and playfully hugged his good friend.

“Aww jezze Jeff get off of me,” Matt said laughing. He was beginning to feel a little better, Jeff was always good for a laugh.

“Okay let go of me so I can go get ready!” Matt said trying to wrestle free from Jeff’s hold.

“Okay hurry!” Jeff said letting go of Matt. Matt hurried away from Jeff and went into the bathroom to get dressed and to go out with the boys!
