Chapter 15

The rest of that night had been quiet and comfortable. Matt and Jessica had walked on the beach and then went inside and snuggled up in front of the fireplace. They both had fallen asleep. When Matt awoke he and Jessica shared their goodbyes.

Matt had driven back to the hotel and snuck into his room. It was well after 2 am. He changed quietly and quickly, getting into his bed. He didn’t want to wake Jeff up.

The next morning Matt awoke to the sound of the traffic on the street below. He turned toward the window and noticed that the balcony door was open. He sat up sleepily looking around. Jeff was gone.

Matt shrugged, stretching. He pulled himself to his feet and went into the kitchen. He decided to make himself a bowl of Lucky Charms. As he was fixing his bowl of cereal he noticed that it was almost 10:30am. He rubbed his head, and took a few Tylenol. Then he took his bowl of cereal and went into the other room and sat on the couch to eat.

Matt felt like shit again. He had so many things he had to figure out. He sighed heavily. His cereal was gone before he knew it, so he put his bowl on the coffee table in front of him and sat back thinking as he stared off into space.

About a minute later the door to the room opened and he heard Jeff’s voice, and then Jay and Adam laugh. Matt glanced over at them as they entered the room.

“Hey! Matt dude, you’re up!” Jeff said looking very wake and hyper as usual. He smiled as he came and sat down on the couch. Adam and Jay followed watching Matt. Adam sat down next to Jeff and Jay sat in the chair next to the couch.

“Yeah I’m up.” Matt mumbled resting his head back as he closed his eyes.

Jeff didn’t speak right away, So how...a.... was your night with Jessica?” Jeff asked taping Matt’s shoulder.

“Did you ask her out yet?” Adam insisted.

Matt really didn’t feel like talking about anything right then. He needed time to think. But he knew they wouldn’t stop bothering him unless he just told them.

Matt sighed. “Yeah I did.” He said softly as he watched each one of their faces. Jeff looked down and Matt felt bad for him. Matt sighed.

“So did she say yes?” Jeff asked quietly looking up at Matt. Matt hurt all over at the look in Jeff’s eyes.

Matt closed his eyes answering softly. “Yeah she did...” Matt said his voice trailing away.

“Good for you Matt!” Jay said trying to get the conversation onto something else. “She have any friends for us?” Jay asked as Adam laughed. Matt grinned looking at Jeff. Jeff stared at him smiling slowly. Matt shrugged, thinking that him and Jessica could probably set them all up.

“You tell her about the WWF yet?” Jeff asked leaning back against the couch.

Matt frowned shrugging, “Naw, I just can’t...” Matt started to say being interrupted.

Jeff sat up straight immediately. “You didn’t tell her yet?” Jeff blurted out staring right at Matt. “Are you nuts!? Matt why not.... you have to know that!?” Jeff asked as Jay and Adam looked like they were getting into the conversation more now They probably thought this conversation was a scene out of a soap opera.

Matt sighed, “I was gonna, but I can’t lose her!” Matt said standing as he turned and looked down at Jeff.

There was silence in the room for a long time. Matt went over and looked out the balcony window. He wanted to be alone. He desperately needed to think. Jeff broke the silence asking, “Matt dude, why would you lose her, I mean we went over this already!”

“I know we did. I tried to tell her, but I had to look at her and I just couldn’t do it. I will hopefully. Soon.” Matt said softly turning to look at his close friends.

Jeff spoke after staring at Matt for a moment, “You had better tell her before you screw things up with her.” Matt knew he was right. He shook his head in agreement. They all looked like they were thinking hard.

Matt sighed. “Guys I gotta ask ya something.” Matt said as he went back to sit next to Jeff on the couch. They all were looking at him with curiosity.

Matt took a deep breathe and they started to speak. “Last night when I was at Jessica’s something happened....”

Jay interrupted Matt, “Did you guys well you know.....do it?” Jay asked looking at Matt while Adam chuckled. Matt rolled his eyes shaking his head.

“Ohh.” Jay mumbled sighing. “Okay continue, sorry.” Jay said looking at Matt. Matt sighed.

“What happened?” Jeff asked as Matt glanced at him. Then at Adam. Matt looked down with a strange look on his face. He rubbed his forehead as he spoke, “Well we were kissing and the phone rang, well Jessica went to answer it and when she was done I asked her who it was....”

“Who was it?” Jeff asked urging Matt to continue.

“Ohh well it was one of her friends...” Matt said softly.

“Yeah so?” Adam asked interrupting.

Matt groaned, “If you guys would quit asking me questions and let me finish I would tell you what happens!” Matt said raising his voice.

Jeff touched Matt’s shoulder, “Okay Matt chill, no more questions okay guys lets just let Matt finish okay, he’s obviously got a lot on his mind and he needs our help.!” Jeff said glancing at Jay and Adam who were shaking their heads in agreement and watching Matt to hear the rest of what he had to say.

Matt mumbled thanks and continued speaking. “Okay like I was saying the phone rang, when she got off I asked who it was just for conversation sake and she told me it was one of her friends. Then she told me that they wanted to know if she wanted to go see a wrestling show next week,” Matt said as all three of his friends faces turned shocked and there eyes went wide.

“Our show next week, she told them she would she would let them know. Guys there is no way she can go to the show! I need to think of some way to make sure she doesn’t go! The only problem is I have to be in the show, which means I have no way of preventing her from going to the show, if she can’t hangout with me she might as well go, but then she’d see me! I don’t know what to do!” Matt said resting his head in his hands.

“Jezze! That’s a big problem huh?!” Adam mumbled as all the guys sat silent trying to think of something helpful and comforting to say.
