Chapter 4

Matt hadn’t been able to take his eyes off of Jessica. He keep thinking about how she was so sweet looking, all he wanted to do was to hold her near him. He had to admit, Jeff did have good taste.

Matt had been watching her a long time, dancing and laughing with her friends. His heart ached. His life was a total soap opera! She had met his eyes a few times as he was looking at her, it was like she knew that he was looking.

He sighed as looked down at his watch. Then Matt stretched and stood slowly. He walked back towards the bar and hung out there for a few minutes.

The bartender was a pretty nice guy, and recognized him from the wrestling, so Matt started talking with him about the WWF. Matt had been leaning against the bar, laughing at something the bartender said, when he felt a cool soft something touch his hand on the counter. Matt looked down and then at the girl leaning next to him. Jessica.

“Hey,” She said softly smiling at him.

“Hi, how bout a drink?” Matt asked turning his hand as he held onto hers.

Jessica smiled. “I’d love one!” She said as Matt met her eyes.

“What do you want?” Matt asked staring at her. She looked down at him and Matt saw a grin form on her face. Matt smiled to himself.

“She wants me,” Matt thought to himself.

“Well......um, how bout a Brandy?” Jessica said looking back to Matt’s eyes.

“Ohh, impressive,” Matt said smiling at her, Jessica laughed softly.

One Brandy coming up my dear!” Matt said looking towards the bartender.

“What can I get for you?” The bartender asked.

“Well, one Brandy for my lovely guest right here,” Matt said glancing at Jessica, “and another shot for me please!” Matt said taking a ten-dollar bill out of his pants pocket.

“Coming right up buddy!” The bartender said as he turned to make the drinks.

Matt set the money on the counter and turned to look at Jessica.

“Lovely?” She questioned smiling at him.

Matt chucked. “Well, would you want to poke my eyes out for admitting the truth?” Matt asked shrugging.

Jessica laughed. “No, never. But only if it was the truth,” she said squeezing his hand gently.

Matt stared at her. He took a deep breath and leaned a little closer to her.

“It is the complete truth, your lovely, and many other things....”

“Really?” Jessica asked interrupting Matt. Matt shook his head yes. Jessica smiled and Matt could tell she looked away to hide the fact that she was blushing again. Matt felt like such a flirt and he liked it.

“Like what?” Jessica asked touching Matt’s silver chain with her free hand again.

Matt shivered. “Well, very pretty,” Matt said softly pausing, “and....beautiful, and,” Matt was interrupted then by the bartender. Matt turned and took the change from the bartender thanking him. Then Matt handed Jessica her drink as he took his own.

“Thank you,” Jessica said softly as she took a sip of her drink.

Matt smiled. “You’re very welcome,” Matt said smiling, “How about we go sit and talk, and drink, and,” Matt stopped as Jessica pulled his hand and they started through the crowd. Matt took her back to the table he had sat at with the guys all evening. They sat close next to each other. Which made Matt feel tense, but excited.

Once they were sitting down and comfortable, they both looked around. Matt took a deep breath, and started to speak.

“So Jessica,” He looked toward her to see her eyes on him. Their eyes met and Matt didn’t speak. He felt like his voice was gone. Jessica stared at him, smiling. She broke the silence.

“Matt,” She took his hand again, making him shiver. Matt wondered why her touch affected him so.

Matt shook his head, “Sorry, so a....you said you were from here right?” Matt asked really knowing a lot about her already from Jeff.

Jessica grinned, “Yeah that’s right, I’ve lived in Las Vegas all of my life! Boring!” Jessica said laughing, as Matt smiled.

“How can this awesome city be boring?” Matt asked with a sly smile on his face.

Jessica elbowed him playfully. “Trust me it can be. Very boring. But at least it gets a lot of tourists, and well......cute ones at that!” Jessica said smiling at Matt.

Matt grinned looking down. She wanted him all right! Matt thought. He couldn’t help but be very happy. Because he knew he wanted her.

“Am I being called cute?” Matt asked raising an eyebrow and smiling at her.

Jessica stared at him, and shook her head, “Yeah Matt, you are, your being called cute! Because you are!” She said with a vicious smile, as she shrugged.

“Well then Jessica, maybe you wouldn’t mind dancing with a cute tourist....”Matt asked taking the last gulp of his drink.
