Chapter 6
The next morning I woke up on the late side. I got out of bed and made myself some coffee. I took it out to the balcony and leaned over the railing to look at the city in the morning light. It was nearly 11:30, and already the breeze was humid. The sun was peaking through the mid-morning haze, sending rays down upon the city of Dallas. I was engrossed in the scene that I didn't notice that Matt was standing on his balcony leaning over the railing like I was. From where I stood, he could see me.
"Good morning, sunshine." Came his deep southern drawl.
I nearly dropped my mug of coffee over the edge of my railing, but quickly caught it before it shattered to the streets below. I looked over at him and he was smiling slyly.
"Hey, Matt." I replied, not wanting to start an argument this early in the morning.
"What, you don't have anything nasty to say this early in the morning?" He asked, raising an eyebrow towards me.
"Matt, don't start with me, its way to early for this, I'll see ya later." I answered, leaving my balcony, closing the sliding screen door behind me.
I went back into the bedroom, where Gabe was still sound asleep and hooked up my laptop. I suddenly had thought of a new angle for the show, also incorporating my idea from the other day. Adam and Jason didn't have a woman valet. So my idea was to get a new woman to go with them, and then keep Amy with Matt and Jeff. Then, the new woman would be with Adam and Jason for a couple of episodes, then she would turn on them and go with the Hardyz. I didn't know if Vince would take a liking to it, but it was worth a shot, and the only one I had. Plus, I had been thinking about the whole wrestling thing, and was maybe thinking of talking to Jeff about it, since he was much more understanding then dear Matthew. Just as I was finishing my idea, I heard a knock at the door. I hesitated, then walked out to the living room and opened the door. Matt was standing there.
I gave him a questioning look, "don't you have anything better to do, then bother me?" I asked, leaning against the door in my boxers and tee shirt.
"No, actually, I don't, but as long as I'm here, well, Jeff was wondering if you would like to join him and I in going out to lunch?" He asked, suddenly becoming timid.
"Are you sure Jeff asked, and it wasn't your idea?" I asked raising an eyebrow at him over my glasses.
He rolled his eyes at me, and answered, "no, believe me, I argued against it, and he sent me over here against my will and made me ask, so what do you say, lunch at Applebees's ?" He asked again, avoiding my eyes.
"Hey, Matt, what are you doing over here, I thought we were heading out to lunch?" Jeff appeared behind his brother, winking at me.
"Not your idea, huh? I'll be ready in a few minutes." I said, slyly smiling at him and closing my hotel door behind myself. As I closed the door, Matt's face was glowing red, and Jeff was laughing at him.
"Jeff, I'm going to kill you!" I heard Matt's muffled voice through the door.
"You know Matt, you are so lame, why don't you just tell her you like her?" Jeff was asking, still laughing hysterically.
I shook my head in dismay and turned to my bedroom to change. That day I put on a red scoop neck tank top, faded blue jean shorts and sandals. I did my hair up in a butterfly clip and applied some make up. I put my wire framed glasses back on, grabbed my purse and my white three quarter sleeved sweater and headed out the door where the boys were patiently waiting. As I walked out the door, I caught Matt's eyes light up as he saw me.
"Are we ready?" I asked, looking at them.
"Yeah, lets go." Jeff said, as Matt nodded. The three of us headed for the elevator and rode down to the parking lot. I called shot gun when we reached the car, so Matt was stuck in the back, as Jeff drove to the nearest Applebee's.

Finally we were seated in a horse shoe shaped booth, me in the middle of the two guys. As we sat looking through the menus, I noticed people from other booths looking strangely at us. I then quickly put together that they had known Matt and Jeff from WWF. I even saw a few women give me dirty looks since I was sitting in between the two of them. Matt and Jeff seemed not to notice the attention.
"Jeff, Matt, don't you guys notice that all these people are staring at you?" I whispered to the both of them, behind my menu.
"We get it a lot, we're used to it." Matt answered, not taking his eyes away from the menu.
"Yeah, we try to blend in as much as possible." Jeff replied.
"Oh, okay." I said, shrugging it off and going back to choosing an item from the menu to eat.
After our meals arrived, we began talking about wrestling and the sagas that were taking place.
"So, I've been working on this new idea for Vince. He's asked me to write up something for him to read today, but I haven't handed it in yet, I thought maybe you two could give me some pointers." I said, pulling out printed notes and handwritten ones from my messy binder.
"Shoot." Jeff said, taking a bite from his juicy cheeseburger.
"Well, I was thinking that, Adam and Jason have had the titles for too long, and its time that you get them back." I looked up at the two of them to make sure they were listening.
"Go on." Matt said impatiently, putting his fork down.
"What we need is a new woman wrestler to start out with Adam and Jason then when the Hardyz and Edge and Christian have a title match, the new woman will betray them and help the Hardyz win their titles back, so then, Edge and Christian will be all alone again, and the Hardyz will have a group of four, a first ever in the WWF, two women and two men." I said, reading from my notes.
"Plus, there will also be a first ever women's tag-team. And, the Hardyz will have their titles back." I said, finally looking up at the two interested men.
"Wow, that's a great idea." Jeff finally said. "I truly like it, we do need our titles back." He continued.
"Not, bad, not bad at all, even for you." Matt said, with a smirk on his face.
"The only problem, where are we going to get a new women's wrestler?" I asked, looking at both of them for suggestions.
"I don't really want to change any of the women and their partners, because they all look good together, we need somebody totally new, a new face for the crowd." I said.
They both looked at me with scheming eyes.
"What?" I asked, glancing nervously at them.
"You." Jeff said his bright green eyes flashing.
"No way, I thought we talked about this, remember I'm the writer here, not the performer." I said, folding my arms.
"Yes, you, you clearly want to do, or you wouldn't have made up the idea." Matt said, figuring out my plan way too easily.
"All right, here's what I'll do, I'll come to RAW tonight and watch all the excitement, and if I like what I see, then we'll talk, is it a deal?" I asked, looking to both of them.
"Deal." They said, putting their hands over mine, and breaking just like before a pep talk before a big game.
