Chapter 16
When Meredith got home her dad was waiting outside for her. Meredith started shaking and she started to cry, she knew what was coming.
"What is it?" Jeff asked holding her hand.
"My...dad said he...he was going t-t-to kill m-m-m-e if he saw me with you."
"Meredith I'm calling the cops. He has to go to jail. I hate him hurting you, I can't stand it!" Jeff said grabbing his cell phone.
"No, he'll hurt me more for calling the police."
"Meredith he'll be in jail were he can't hurt your Mom or you." Jeff said dialing. "Yes, I'm at 7031 Lincoln Street and I wanna press charges on Samuel Jones."
"For what?" the operator asked.
"For child abuse and for abusing his wife." Jeff answered.
"Would you like to send units right away?" she replied.
"Yes, I'm afraid he's going to hit his daughter soon. Please hurry." Jeff said hanging up.
"Jeff I don't know about this." Meredith said watching her dad scream.
"We did the right thing, Mer." Jeff said squeezing her hand. Within ten minutes the police came. Jeff and Meredith came out of the jeep when the police had him in handcuffs.
"I'm going to kill you, you little bitch." Her dad said to her when he was being taken away.
"That's enough Mr. Jones." The police officer said putting him in that car. "He won't be hurting you anymore." He said before driving away.
"Are you okay Meredith?" her Mom asked hugging her.
"I'm so sorry. I thought he was going to kill me. Jeff said it would be okay." Meredith said crying.
"It's okay. I'm not mad. Come one let's go inside." Her Mom said leading Jeff and Meredith inside.
