Chapter 2
Jason pushed his sweaty hair out of his face as he made his way backstage after his match with Jeff Hardy. He messed up out there; his mind was elsewhere that whole match.
“Jay!” He heard the woman’s voice call, “Jason Reso!”
Jason bit his lower lip and went to turn around. He knew who the voice belonged to, and he knew why they were calling them. He looked up at Stephanie McMahon making her way over to him, her expression furious.
“What happened out there?” Stephanie asked.
“I’m sorry Steph, I don’t know where my mind was,” He apologized with a sigh. He knew where his mind was; it was with Tessa.
“You could have gotten hurt!” Stephanie yelled, obviously not caring about his excuse, “You could have gotten Jeff hurt. You missed more then two spots out there!”
“I’m sorry!” Jason yelled back, angrily, “I told you I was sorry. But nobody got hurt. Did they? No, so get off my damn back!”
“Don’t let it happen again,” Stephanie said softly, turning around and walking away.
Jay watched her leave and took a deep breath, closing his eyes. He knew he totally blew that match with Jeff, and he was thankful that his good friend hadn’t gotten hurt, but he couldn’t think of anything but Tessa. He hadn’t eaten in days, he was having trouble sleeping, and now it was affecting his work.
“Jay?” a woman’s voice asked gently behind him.
“Hey Amy,” Jason said softly, turning around and facing the beautiful redhead.
“You alright?” she asked, looking at his sad face, “I mean, I saw the match and…”
“I’m fine,” Jason interrupted bitterly, “really, never better.”
“Do you want to talk maybe?” Amy offered, “I have to go out for my match in a few minutes, but maybe when we go back to the hotel we can go grab a coffee.”
“I don’t think so,” Jason declined, “thanks for the offer, I just don’t feel like talking about it.”
“Ok, well if you change your mind the offers there,” Amy said, “I’ve gotta go get ready for my match. I’ll talk to you later Jay.”
“Later,” Jason called, watching Amy retreat down the hallway.
As Jay watched Amy jog down the hallway he couldn’t help but think how attractive she was with her long, fire red hair in corkscrew curls and her usual baggy pants, thong showing ring attire. Not only was she incredibly sexy, but she was sweet, outgoing, and well liked. Jay shook his head as he watched her turn the corner, the last thing he needed in his life was to get involved again.
