Chapter 4

“What’s with you and Jay lately?” a voice behind Amy asked as she retrieved her bottle of water out of the machine.

“What about us?” Amy asked with a smile as she turned around and faced Matt Hardy.

“You just seem to be inseparable lately,” Matt replied.

“Jealous?” Amy teased taking a sip of her water.

“So much,” Matt laughed, “I’m serious though Amy, is something going on there?”

“No,” Amy said, it had been a week since she and Jay had talked in the hotel’s restaurant and since then they had spent a lot of time together driving from city to city together.

“Alright Amy, you can keep denying as much as you want,” Matt said, placing his arm around Amy.

“Denying?” Amy laughed, “We’re just friends Matt. Jay’s going through a hard time and he needs someone. I’m just trying to help out.”

“Keep telling yourself that,” Matt said with a wink, “I’ve gotta go find Jeff, I’ll talk to you later.”

“Later,” Amy called after him, shaking her head as she watched him disappear down the hallway. He didn’t know what he was talking about. Amy wasn’t interested in Jay as anything more then friends… or at least that’s what she told herself.

“Who are you facing tonight?” Jason asked his friend Adam Copeland as he tapped up his wrists.

“I lose to Regal tonight,” Adam said looking up from the magazine he was reading, “The old Edge/Regal feud continues.”

Jay laughed as he finished taping up his wrists and threw the roll into his wrestling bag next to him and took a seat on the bench where he adjusted his boots.

“Who you facing?” Adam asked, not bothering to look up from his magazine.

“I think Lance and I lose to the Hardys tonight,” Jason answered.

“Speaking of which…” Adam said raising an eyebrow and placing his magazine on the floor next to him, “What’s going on with you and Amy?”

“What about it?” Jason asked confused.

“After Tessa left you, I didn’t think I’d see you get with anyone else ever,” Adam laughed, “I guess I was wrong.”

“Amy and I aren’t together,” Jason replied, “who told you that?”

“You’re not?” Adam laughed, “I just thought you two were spending a lot of time together, and that you were… I guess I was wrong.”

“I guess you were,” Jason replied, “we’re just friends Adam. She’s been really supportive of me lately.”

“Ok,” Adam nodded, “I’m sorry man. My mistake.”

“It’s alright,” Jason replied, “but I did want to talk to Amy before I went out for my match tonight.”

“Alright, later man,” Adam said watching Jason disappear out of the locker room and laughed to himself, before picking up his magazine.

“Sure there’s nothing going on between you two,” Adam mumbled to himself with a smile as he returned his focus to his magazine.

“Hey Amy,” Jason called, jogging up to Amy as she adjusted her black baggy pants.

“Jay,” she said raising a hand seriously, “I need to know something.”

“Sure, what?” Jason asked, looking at her serious expression.

“How do these pants look with this thong?” Amy asked, her face breaking into a smile.

“They look fantastic,” Jason said with a grin, “only you could pull off the thong look.”

“Awww…. You’re gonna make me blush,” Amy laughed, “you ready for you match against my boys?”

“You mean am I ready to get my ass kicked,” Jason asked, “I always am.”

“You know you just can’t wait until the part where I interfere and hurricarana you,” Amy winked.

“My head, your thighs,” Jason laughed, “I can’t wait.”

“You’re a pig Jay,” Amy teased, punching his shoulder playfully.

“I actually wanted to thank you for everything you’ve done,” Jason replied with a grin, “You’ve been a great friend.”

“What are friends for?” Amy smiled, “I’m really glad we’ve become such good friends Jay.”

“Let me take you out to dinner after the show,” Jason offered, “To repay you for everything you’ve done. It’d mean a lot to me.”

“A free meal with an entertaining guy?” Amy asked with a smile, “Sure, why not.”

“Great,” Jason replied, “I’m gonna run, I’ll see you out there. Good luck tonight.”

“On the contrary,” Amy corrected, “you’re the one that needs good luck. You’re getting hurricaranaed tonight.”

“And I can’t wait,” Jason chuckled as he walked out the door.
