Chapter 5
“Nice job Jay,” Matt Hardy said hugging his friend as they stepped behind the curtain after their match on Raw.
“Thanks Man,” Jay said.
“You seemed to be a lot more on your game,” Matt replied, running his hand through his sweaty, brown hair.
“Yeah, Amy’s helped me clear my head a lot,” Jason said with a smile, grabbing his water bottle and taking a sip, “she’s been great.”
“You care about her a lot, don’t you?” Matt asked with a grin.
“She’s been a great friend,” Jay relied smiling, “I don’t know what I’d do without her.”
“You two would be a cute couple,” Matt said with a wink.
“Me and Amy?” Jay asked, “Nah, we’re just friends. She’s becoming like one of the guys.”
“Well, you better watch out,” Matt warned, “I know tons of guys who would love to get with Amy. You’ve got your chance now, don’t let it go.”
“I’ll keep that in mind,” Jay mumbled, “but really, I don’t want her as anything more then a friend.”
“Most relationships start off with friendship,” Matt corrected, “just remember that.”
“I will,” Jay said rolling his eyes slightly, then smiled as he saw Amy walking up behind Matt.
“Hey guys,” Amy said as she stepped up behind Matt with a grin and patted his shoulder, “nice job out there.”
“You too Ames,” Matt replied with a grin, “I’m gonna get going so I can grab a shower before we head to the Outback. Are y’all coming with us?”
“No, Jay’s taking me out,” Amy said as she watched Matt’s lips turn upward into a grin.
“Oh, he is?” Matt laughed, then winked quickly at Jay, “Have fun kids. I’ll see ya later.”
Jay shook his head and looked at Amy as Matt walked off down the hallway, with a quick look back and smile back at the two.
“So, where we heading tonight?” Amy asked, turning to Jay with a smile.
“You like sushi, right?” Jay asked.
“Love it,” Amy replied, her smile growing wider.
“I heard some great reviews about this Japanese restaurant in the area, I thought we could stop there,” Jason explained.
“That’d be fantastic,” Amy exclaimed, her eyes shining, “I haven’t had sushi in so long. I’ll go grab a shower and meet you by the woman’s locker room in a while, ok?”
“Sure, sounds good,” Jay replied grinning.
Jason smiled as he walked down the hallway, looking back at Amy as she walked quickly down the other way of the hallway. Maybe Matt was right, relationships always started with friendships. Maybe there was something more then a friendship between the two. Jay wasn’t sure, but he knew he was going to try and find out.
