Star Section: Issue 5

I’d like to start out by sending my condolences and prayers to all the victims and their families after Tuesday’s cowardly and devastating attack. Being from Boston this has hit very close to home since I have family in the city. They are all ok, Thank God.

A lot of my friends have lost family members and I can’t even pretend to understand what they are going, and there is no way I can pretend I know how the people in the city are feeling.

I’d just like to offer my prayers to everyone out there. Please make sure you try to help out. Donate clothes, money, blood… anything you can.

If anyone needs to talk about what’s going on, I’d be more than happy to try and help. I know there’s a lot of counselors and things out there, but maybe you need to talk to another teenager… just email me: Luckystar319@hotmail.com I’ll try my best to help you.

On to the wrestling business. I think Smackdown was the greatest show of compassion and togetherness. The beginning segment with Vince’s heartfelt words and the singing of the national anthem was absolutely heartwarming and patriotic. I was in tears by the end of it, then by the time they showed the speeches I was sobbing uncontrollably. All the speeches were beautiful and they showed you a new side to all the wrestlers and brought you more into their lives.

I’d like to thank the WWF and all the superstars for putting on a great show. It’s something I think we all needed, the comedy of it and seeing how other people were reacting to this time of crisis.

Smackdown had me a little funny. I didn’t know whether to be laughing about the people’s struddle or crying because of Terri’s speech. It got a very mixed reaction from me, and I thank the WWF for giving me the 2 hours to just sit back and relax.

Next week, depending on everything that happens, there will be a more wrestling related column. But until then, be proud to be an American, keep your head up, and be kind to your fellow man. And as this has proven, live life to the fullest, you never know when it’s going to end.

God Bless America and all of you
