Chapter 10

“There’s going to be a ton of fans waiting,” Jeff warned Jamie as they drove towards the arena for Monday’s Raw is War, “even though it’s early, they’re going to be there. Just stay with me and act casual.”

“Ok,” Jamie nodded as she pushed her hair behind her shoulders. Her stomach felt like a knot.

“Don’t worry Jamie,” Jeff said placing a hand on her upper thigh and rubbing it softly, “The fans are nothing to worry about. Security is tight and the fans are pretty harmless.”

“It’s not that…” Jamie said, wringing her fingers and looking at her lap.

“What is it?” Jeff asked as he looked at her quickly, then back at the road.

“I’m just nervous about meeting everyone,” Jamie admitted, “They’re your best friends, I just want to make a good impression…”

“They’ll love you,” Jeff reassured her, squeezing her thigh.

“I’m really nervous about meeting Matt,” Jamie confessed with a nervous laugh, “it’s not only your brother, but your best friend. I hope he likes me.”

“I’m sure he will,” Jeff said, feeling his heart jump into his throat. Only half believing what he was saying.

“Here we go,” Jeff said turning the corner, entering the arena.

As soon as the fans saw the car enter the arena parking lot, they erupted in screams. It was so loud even from in the car. Jamie looked at Jeff as he kissed her quickly on the cheek before climbing out. Jamie followed his lead as she climbed out of the passenger side.

As soon as everyone saw the multi-colored hair, they freaked. Jamie heard the already loud screams grow to deafening levels. Jeff waved up at everyone and acknowledged them.

Jeff grabbed his bags out of the trunk as Jamie stood next to him feeling uneasy. She could feel all the eyes on her. She knew that people were saying things about her and it made her uncomfortable. Jeff knew that too. That so many of the teenage girls were wondering who that blonde was with Jeff Hardy. He smiled at Jamie as he took her hand and led her into the arena after waving one more time at the fans.

“That wasn’t so bad, huh?” Jeff asked as they stepped into the backstage area of the arena.

“Aren’t people going to think it’s weird you didn’t come with Matt and Lita?” Jamie asked as Jeff led her down a hallway.

Jeff shrugged, “to be honest. That’s the first time I’ve come to a show without either of them or Jay or Adam. But it was cool. You want a drink?”

“No thanks,” Jamie said as she and Jeff turned down a new corridor. Jamie studied all the doors; they were all labeled with different names. She was so busy looking at the doors that she almost tripped when Jeff stopped in front of one.

“Sorry,” Jeff laughed as he helped Jamie regain her balance.

“Trying to kill me now are you?” Jamie joked as Jeff placed his arm around her waist. Jeff chuckled as he knocked on the door.

“Who’s locker room is this?” Jamie whispered, looking up at Jeff.

“You’ll see,” he said with a smile.

“Hey Jeff,” a blonde man said when he opened the door. Jamie bit her lip, she recognized him immediately as Christian.

“Hey Jay,” Jeff said, pulling Jamie closer to him, “what’s up?”

“Not much, come on in you two,” Jay said ushering Jamie and Jeff into the locker room.

“I’m Jason, by the way,” Jason said with a smile, shaking Jamie’s hand.

“Jamie,” Jamie said with a grin, “nice to meet you.”

“You too,” Jay answered, “I’ve heard a lot about you from this man.”

“Good things I hope,” Jamie laughed, looking at a blushing Jeff.

“Nothing but,” Jason said, “Adam should be here in a minute, I know he wants to meet you. Sit down.”

“You’re Christian, right?” Jamie asked, as she sat on a couch next to Jeff.

Jay nodded, “So you know you’re wrestling…”

“You could say that,” Jamie said with a small smile, “I have a reason to watch now.”

Jay smiled as he watched Jeff kiss Jamie lightly on the forehead. It had been a long time since he had seen his friend so happy.

“Awww…” a man’s voice said from behind them, “isn’t that precious.”

“Shut up Adam,” Jeff laughed turning around and looking at Adam.

“Hey man,” Adam said, slapping Jeff’s hand.

“Adam, this is Jamie,” Jeff said, standing up, followed by Jamie, “Jamie, Adam.”

“You’re the infamous Jamie,” Adam said with a smile, extending his hand, “It’s so nice to put a face with a name. I feel like I already know you, this boy talks about you so much.”

“Good to know,” Jamie said with a smile, and looked at Jeff. Who’s face had turned to an interesting shade of red.

“You guys hungry?” Jay asked, “I was going to run down to the catering room.”

“Sure,” Jamie answered as Jeff wrapped his arm around her waist and led her down the hall.
