Chapter 8

“What’s her name?” a voice behind Jeff said as he turned around from the vending machine.

“Who?” Jeff asked, facing his good friend Jason Reso.

“Who?” Jason asked, “Whoever the girl is that has you acting all giddy. You’re acting like a freakin’ school girl Jeff.”

Jeff laughed, “And it takes a girl to have that effect on me?”

Jason smirked as he took a sip out of his water bottle, “Like I said, what’s her name?”

Jeff laughed as he twisted the cap off of his own bottle of water, “Her name’s Jamie.”

“I knew it,” Jason said with a smile, “What’s she like? Where’d you meet her?”

“She’s really cool. I met her at this party,” Jeff answered, “and we went to a bar. Then I went over to her house yesterday.”

Jason’s smile grew wider, “That’s what I’m saying Jeff.”

Jeff chuckled, “No, we just had dinner and talked. It’s funny though…”

“What is?” Jason asked as the two started to walk down the hallway.

“I thought we were going to,” Jeff said, “but it just didn’t feel right. Not yet…”

“Uh-oh,” Jason said stopping in his tracks.

“What?” Jeff asked studying his face.

“No, never mind,” Jason said shaking his head, a small smirk on his face.

“No, what Jay?” Jeff demanded.

“You like her man,” Jason said with a smile, “You like her a lot.”

Jeff nodded as he shoved his hands into the pockets of his black jeans, “It’s scary Jay, but I really do.”

“Well congratulations man,” Jason said, smacking Jeff on the back, “Have you talked to Matt about her yet?”

Matt shrugged and shook his head sadly, “He doesn’t like it. He doesn’t like the idea that I just met this girl and care about her a lot. He’s scared that she’s going to use me and then dump me… But Jamie’s not like that. I know that already…”

Jason nodded, “Well it looks like he’s only looking out for you. Maybe he just needs to meet her.”

Jeff shrugged, “maybe.”

“You should bring her with you sometime,” Jason suggested.

“What do you mean?” Jeff asked, watching Jay tie back his blonde hair.

“You want to have a relationship with this girl, right?” Jason asked, he watched Jeff shake his head yes, “well then you should bring her with you once. Have her meet Matt, have her meet everyone. This is your life Jeff, she should see it.”

“This early in the relationship?” Jeff asked, “We’re not even really together. We just had 2 dates, if you want to even call them that.”

“Whenever you want to,” Jason said, “but it’s only fair to her. To let her see what you do. To let her meet your friends and let your friends meet her.”

“That’s a really good idea Jay, thanks,” Jeff said with a smile.

“That’s what I’m here for,” Jason answered with a nod, “I’ve got to go find Adam about our match tonight. I’ll talk to you later, alright?”

“Later Jay,” Jeff said as he watched Jason walk away.

“CHRISTAIN!” He heard Jay sing his entrance music as he walked down the hallway, “CHRISTIAN!”

Jeff couldn’t help but laugh as he watched Jason turn the corner. Jeff shook his head and dug his hands deeper in his pocket as he made his way back to his locker room.
