I am Marquenica, better known as Marquie, an eclectic witch based in the Gardnerian tradition and a student of all people and things.

At the age of 7, I discovered my mother and father's practice of Gardnerian Wicca and thus began my initiation into this life. I learned rather painfully when we moved to the States that the practice of Wicca is not accepted publicly, so I withdrew from most people, being a teenager and overdramatizing the *obvious* fact that I was all by myself in my pain. When I was 16 I met two other girls at our very conservative school who also practiced Wicca. We began a coven with one of the girl's older brothers guiding us, as he knew more than we. Yet, inevitably, my family moved again and I was torn from my first coven.

Since then, I have become very vocal about my practice of Wicca and defending it from those who are quick to condemn it. I am studying to be a civil lawyer and hoping to practice specifically for my fellow Wiccans. The confusion in the world today is detrimental to nature and - in that - to all people, so I support anyone who is attempting to inform the world of their reasoning for being whatever they are.
