"I used to go to Krishnakishore's house.
Once when I was there, he said to me,

look at my face in the mirror,
and dance naked among a thousand girls'.
Krishnakishore's wife scolded him and said,
'What have you said to Ramakrishna?
You don't know how to talk to people.'.."

The Master Said:

"God is engaged in three kinds of activity:
creation, preservation and destruction.
Death is inevitable. All will be destroyed at the time of dissolution.
Nothing will remain. At that time the Divine Mother
will gather up the seeds for the future creation,
even as the elderly mistress of the house
keeps in her hotchpotch-pot little bags of cucumber seeds,
'sea-foam', blue pills, and other miscellaneous things.
The Divine Mother will take her seeds out again
at the time of the new creation."

The Master Said:

"You know I am a fool. I know nothing.
Then who is it that says all these things?
I say to the Divine Mother:
'O Mother, I am the machine and Thou art the Operator.
I am the house and Thou art the indweller.
I am the chariot and Thou art the Charioteer.
I do as Thou makest me do. I speak as Thou makest me speak;
I move as Thou makest me move. It is not I !
It is all Thou ! It is all Thou !'
Hers is the glory; we are only Her instruments."

"He who is Lord of the Universe will teach everyone.
He alone teaches us, who has created this universe;

to bring them up. The Lord has done so many things -
will He not show people the way to worship Him?
If they need teaching, then He will be the Teacher.
He is our Inner Guide."

[In reply to : "How do we fix our minds on God?"]

"Repeat God's name and sing His glories, and keep holy company;

The mind cannot dwell on God if it is immersed day and night
in worldliness, in worldly duties and responsibilities;
it is most necessary to go into solitude now and then
and think of God."

Mandodari began to tempt him with various fruits
so that he might come down and drop the weapon.
But he couldn't be tricked so easily."

SatchidAnanda alone is the guru."

The Master Said:

"The rishis of old attained the Knowledge of Brahman.
One cannot have this so long as there is the slightest trace
of worldliness. How hard the rishis laboured !
Early in the morning they would go away from the hermitage,
and would spend the whole day in solitude,
meditating on Brahman. At night they would return to the hermitage
and eat a little fruit or roots.
They kept their mind aloof from the objects of sight,
hearing, touch, and other things of a worldly nature.
Only thus did they realize Brahman as their own inner consciousness."

"Once a salt doll went to measure the depth of the ocean.
It wanted to tell others how deep the water was.

Bonus Sutra

The Master Said:

"A worldly man spends thousands of rupees for his daughter's marriage.
Yet, all the while, his neighbours are dying of starvation;
and he finds it hard to give them two morsels of rice;
he calculates a thousand times before giving them even that much.
The people around him have nothing to eat; but what does he care about that?
He says to himself: 'What can I do? Let the rascals live or die.
All I care about is that the members of my family
should live well'. And they talk about doing good to others!"
