MASS TIMELINE
- 1982-1983-axes records their first album for A&M records...although this album was never released 4 of the songs ended up on new birth..
- 1984-mass release their first self titled e.p. with producer jon mathias.It was recorded at the record plant in n.y.c.The e.p. sold 10,000 copies in the boston area alone.
- 1985-mass signed to rca records and release new birth which sells very well and gets them the attention of Michael Sweet as well as many new fans..
- 1986-The video for do you love me is aired in roatation on mtv and v-66...The single goes on to sell 30,000 copies.Rca buys out mass and they are showcasing for new labels...
- 1987-mass signs to enigma records and releases take you home...This album is their first to be pressed on cd and sells very well even without any singles or videos..
- 1988-mass was nominated for best heavy metal act in boston and they release voices in the night on enigma records...This album had three singles Reach for the sky,Turn it all around and Voices in the night...The cd version also contained a bonus track -still of the night which was only released on the mass e.p.
- 1989-A video for planned for reach of rthe sky but never happened beacuse enigma went bankrupt and mass was without a record deal.
- 1990-The band continued to write and play shows...
- 1991-The band continued to write and play shows
- 1992-Kevin Varrio leaves mass...They release a hit single under the gun which was on a boston compilation cd..
- 1993-mass changes their name to mother train and hire Mike Palumbo as their new bass player..
- 1994-the band continues to write and record...
- 1995-the band continues to write and play shows in the local area
- 1996-the band continues to play shows and write demos to shop to labels..
- 1997-the band continues to write and record working on several tapes to shop to record labels..
- 1998-The band starts negotiations with a record label to release a compilation cd..Several shows are filmed for a home video...
- 1999-The compilation cd is expected out by late summer ...It will have a couple songs from each of the albums and also some new tracks as well..The home video will be released in February..The Website is up and running as well as their new version of their fan club
