While I was taking pictures of the park , what I have noticed is that some of the rides have been taken down , leading me to assume that they are being sold off. On this visit to the park , I noticed that the roofs over the picnic area's are starting to be taken down , as well as the Tumble Bug being taken apart. March 23 , 2002
On my April 13th 2002 visit to the park , the Tumble Bug has been removed.
On my visit to the Park on August 31, 2002 , it appears no other rides have been removed. The Picnic Groves structures are gone , and the parking lot across the street from the park seemed to be being used as a laydown area for sewer pipes. The Whalom Park sign on the railroad bridge had been removed , and I didn't see the sign for the park on Route 2 either.
As of the weekend of 8-31-02 , the park has been closed for 2 years.
